Series so far: June 21, 2013 (Game 1/3): Jays 7-6 Orioles June 21, 2013 (Game 2/3): Jays 4-2 Orioles Pitching Matchup: http://i.imgur.com/xuwmLCX.png SP - Josh Johnson (39.0 IP, 15 BB, 9.00(!!) K/9, 3.46 BB/9, .309 BAA, .331 BABIP, 3.94 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/Nj8WelZ.png SP - Freddy Garcia (50.2 IP, 10 BB, 4.44 K/9, 1.78 BB/9, .268 BAA, .241 BABIP, 6.50 FIP) [R] Lineups: http://i.imgur.com/2PiAd7Z.png Make your picks for the first homer contest hosted by Dylan! Chris Davis is 2/7 with a homer (his MLB leading 27th) and McLouth has hit .417 in the last games against Toronto. McLouth though is 1/11 with 5Ks against Johnson, and Davis will meet Johnson for the first time in his career. With Ishkiawa on the major league roster, this gives the chance to have Davis DHing every game. He's DH'd 4 straight games and the Os had a day off as well. This helps with him getting less fatigued because he's played all but 1 game so far for the Os Freddy Garcia's 8.16 ERA in the last 3 starts were enough to demote him to the bullpen as a long man, and pitched an inning last Wednesday against the Detroit Tigers. He gets the spot start for today's game though. Jays: Reyes had a nice game in Buffalo, going 2/4 last night as the Bisons won 6-3 against the Durham Bulls. He should be called up for Monday's series against the Rays. Maurio Gomez is enjoying a nice time with Buffalo as he hit two out last night, giving him 21 on the year and leading the IL in homers. Jays have hit 9 homers in the 5 games at home so far against the Rockies and Orioles as they look to sweep their 3rd straight series, 2nd at home. How about Adam Lind and his hot streak and his good matchups? He's 7/11 against Freddy Garcia with two long balls, and he's 20/40 (.500!) against the O's this year with two homers as well! With Bautista looking to build on his homer, and Reyes coming back, this team could retake the pre-season idea of being the strongest team in the East. Johnson has been super unlucky this year. After coming off the DL, he's posted an amazing 1.86 ERA with 20Ks in 19.1 IP, but his record is 0-1 as he's only received 13 runs in total in support across 7 starts. In the current winning streak, the Jays have hit to a .333 average and 18 homers to give them 5.7 runs per game on average Standings: http://i.imgur.com/RKltIsd.png http://i.imgur.com/RiCvnU2.png Venue: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/RogersCentre.gif I hope you guys enjoy the game and the GDT! bzapple Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Time to show the Orioles that they can't succeed with awful pitchers like Freddy Garcia.

Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 We have no business losing today with Johnson versus garcia..JJ is due for a win.

flafson Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I live in edmonton and my wife was buying me Jay's shirts for fathers day so there's not a huge selection out here I wanted the more plain style blue version... so I had the choice between Romero and Lawrie.... guess who I chose??? Bautista.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 lets geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet it .... make it 11 straight right before REYES gets back.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Seriously I was just hoping to get to .500 at the all star break, and i though we could have a chance, anything above it at this point feels like a bonus. The first 12 something games after the break are all at home, and all against teams we can beat. If we can put ourselves in a good position at the break, then comes out guns blazing, theres no reason we cant be right there.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I did buy a white bautista Racist.
Smokey Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I would really hate to see a 10 game winning streak come to an end at the hands of a 37 year old junk-baller... Hopefully the hitters will stay aggressive and wont let Garcia get ahead of them with first pitch breaking balls down the middle.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Garcia owned us last time we faced him... Hopefully our hitters did their homework this time.
sdyment Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Gotta say -- love the GDT's on this new site. You're doing a great job fatcow!! Also -- whoever charlie460 is..... I LOVE YOU!!!!!! Thanks again guys! Oh by the way --- GO JAYS GO!!!
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Freddy is a piece of s*** starter, this should be our first easy win in a few days. This won't be the usual "Jays can't score against crappy starters!" thing, Freddy is far beyond that. Jeff Francis level. JJ just needs to do his thing. The jays have a very inconsistent, impatient offense, anything can happen, Johnson could have an off day, jays offense can go to sleep.... This is far from a guaranteed win. Thjs offense needs another high average, OBP bat
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I swear if we get shut down by Garcia... They better feast on him...This should be an easy win based on the pitching matchup
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 How many k's for JJ today??? I say 9 27.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I swear if we get shut down by Garcia... Johnson has to be due for a win though, he is too good for that.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Still can't believe you go from 27-36, to 37-36 in one streak.... big streaks can do wonders.

This won't be the usual "Jays can't score against crappy starters!" thing, Freddy is far beyond that. Jeff Francis level. JJ just needs to do his thing. I think we blew him up for like 7 runs when he was with the Yankees at some point. Game ended at with over 20 combined runs IIRC lol. I was there. It was crazy. If we don't beat him today.. bleh.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 lets win this today with JJ on the mound........... Sweep the o's would be a good statement.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 So would a 10 game wi- oh wait A 20 game win streak would be nice too I think I want a 20 gamer mostly because of Jonn's idea about everyone doing the Lo Viste sign haha
JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 what is boni so happy about? he sucks and soon wont be on the team
