Last game before draft was nice, we salvaged a win out of this mini series. Bautista and Melky still pretty cold, while DeRosa's making a case for 2B starting gig. Dickey was 2 outs away from a complete game shutout, and had a great AB, hitting an RBI double and scoring later that inning.

Scoring Plays:

Top of the 5th:

Jays score (Jays lead 1-0): Incredible play! RA Dickey (who squared to bunt) pulls the bat back and spikes a ball down the 3B line for a double, Henry Blanco scores on the play FROM FIRST!

Jays score (Jays lead 2-0): Jose Bautista singles to left, Dickey scores

Jays score (Jays lead 4-0): Jose Bautista stole two bases before this play, including a risky double steal with Encarnacion to put both runners in scoring position with 2 down. Mark DeRosa provided a nice hit up the middle to drive in both runners!

Love the Baltimore Chop. Such a great move. Crafty vetrin!

Blanco seems a bit faster than the molasses I took him for.

That double by Dickey was easily one of my favourite plays of the season. Classic vetrin move!

Not really worried about Melky and Jose. Melkman's approach still looks fine and JB's is just a tiny bit off. He'll find it again before long.

Always worry about Izturis at shortstop but he had a very nice game today. A couple very good plays and overall looked comfortable at the position...this time. Unfortunately he also got robbed of a couple hits himself :(

At least Dickey gave us a promising start. He has been so inconsistent, but starts like these really inspire some hope that he will go on a run of ace like performances.

He's certainly capable of it.

Absolutely. Hopefully he has a good feel for the KB the rest of the way.

How about we show up some love to uncle Blanco, outstanding job catching the knuckleball today, and did not give up an at bat with a hit and a walk, i know he is not the best but i love seeing Arencibia on bench all game

It's sad we only get a glimpse of it, and last year a start like this was almost automatic.

Still hasn't gained the velocity of his hard knuckle ball that was key to his run last year . Not hopefull that we see along run till he gets that. JJ hopefully pitches like last nite so we can get full value in july at the deadline

Maicer was a monster on defense, he should be our starting shortstop

Do I even need to quote what you said last night?

Same here. Had no idea it was an afternoon game and not at 10 PM EST.

Great job Dickey. That's a serious breath of fresh air.

Lind needs to start full time now.

I don't think so just yet. I mean, it's Barry Zito, it doesn't really prove that much.

Oh my god guys I have never heard a bunch of bandwagoneers in my life.... The jays won one game now dickey blanco and izzy are heroes!!! C'mon give your head a shake if you and I were out there we would have about the same success rate !!! But you know Canadian media(which owns the team obvs) is going to push a win just like they are going to downplay a loss... We are done!!! Unless by some miracle AA comes to his senses and gets rid of the trash...yes blanco dickey(every knuckleballer finds success at some point ur Robert coello until the league adjust) we are about too lose our second best healthy hitter for the rest of the season in melky who I might add is the only table setter on this team right now!! It's time to focus on getting kohl and fireballing dickey,Johnson one of Bautista/EE and any other fodder in this org we need too stick to the homegrown model no matter what !!!! Look at the succesful yanks and jays of past!! hell most World Series winning teams have won it with homegrown scouted talent AA ALMOST... Got it right !! Despite the name I'm losing confidence quickly in this regime!!!!

I honestly held AA at the top of the food chain for management in ANY sport, thought the model he was going after was perfect .... And it was , until his actual go and get major leaguers moment!! Like seriously who the f*** thought buerhle would be succesful in the al east
