G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 It's really too bad not sure I'm alone but I liked him as a bench player. Always had good at bats. I like him too. But, since he, Edwin and Lind are both really only usable at 1B and DH, he's pretty much relegated to AAA depth in case of injury, and less useful on the Jays bench.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 He reminds me of Lyle Overbay Hey Mike, who do you think is a comparable pitcher for Brett Cecil's stuff? Do you think Brett Cecil and Cole Hamels have the same stuff?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 The little known fact about that play is that Prince Fielder when he swiped at him very quickly ate three of his organs. He claims he's a vegetarian but really he eats organs of lesser 1B's.
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I'd love to see him come back and play again. I'd like to see the Jays give him another shot. You never want to hear about someone's career coming to an end due to an injury especially in the beginning of a career. Hopefully he'll be able to make a comeback with some team and at least give it another shot to become a MLB player. Worse case it doesn't pan out and he can walk away saying he got another chance at it.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Great news for Cooper. No way he returns to Toronto though. He had a back injury and rather than sticking with him, they dumped him to save on some rehab costs. Plus with Lind hitting the way he is, there's no space for him to play full-time. He'll probably end up going to the Yankees or Sox and haunting us.
