Cello Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I don't get the rogers trade at all, relievers like rogers are a dime a dozen, heck we got better in AAA. 1. Rogers = good publicity or free promotion for the parent company if Esmil succeeds 2. AA loves Esmil's live arm
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Even the Snider for Lincoln deal was a head scratcher... AA has a fetish for below average relievers? Just don't understand it.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Aw... then who? LaCava? I think I read somewhere that he's really into advanced metrics, but then again he is AA's right hand man. If this turns into a Marlins situation, AA's got to be fired RIGHT? The Marlins record last year on May 30th? 29-22
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 I know Lind was a poor defender in left, but you can't tell me he'd do any worse than Melky on that play.
Cello Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 AA has a fetish for below average relievers? Just don't understand it. starters too remember JO-JO Reyes?
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 The Marlins record last year on May 30th? 29-22 f***, is that true?
leaffie Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 thank you, I was racking my brain trying to remember his name. Now that was the worst.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Add in the Izturis signing and missing on Grilli because he wanted three years. Grilli + Aviles >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rogers + Izturis Same $$ Now you're making me feel worse
DH12 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Now lincoln can't throw a strike man what a team
digiblader Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Remember, a lot of teams wanted Dickey, not just the Jays. Texas was rumored--just be glad they didn't get him, or Oakland's in 1st place right now. Remember, the Mets wanted to trade him because they felt they couldn't afford him, especially with a rebuild. Travis D'Arnaud is not a sure thing--he's on the DL in Vegas right now. Noah Syndegaard is a long ways away--he's only in high-A ball. Mike Aviles is only playing because Lonnie Chisenhall still hasn't developed yet in Cleveland--and Aviles' numbers are a small sample size.
dmrich28 Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 oh good. we have Jenkins throwing tomorrow...never ends
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 f***, is that true? Yep, they had just finished a 3 game sweep of the Nats

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 oh good. we have Jenkins throwing tomorrow...never ends Jenkins ain't that bad
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 oh good. we have Jenkins throwing tomorrow...never ends I'll take Jenkins over this washed up disaster.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 AA has a fetish for below average relievers? Just don't understand it. This is how I picture the Snider negotiations (lovingly paraphrased from an excellent Simpsons episode): Now before we negotiate, I have to tell you I'm desperate to unload [snider], and I'll take any offer. -- Homer Simpson
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 someone on the board needs to tell me if it's worth getting out of my ice bath to watch this game...my old body needs the ice so much more than I need to watch the game right now.
digiblader Verified Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Yeah.. then things went to pot in June.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Dickey for our top prospects, snider for this shitshow and all these other bs moves so far since the season has started. Consider me officially boarding the fire AA wagon!
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 you guys are forgetting all the good moves AA made, like when he.. haha just kidding First 2 years were perfect, then his magic ran out.
