G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The first inning killed them. Stupid awful defensive inning. Shame too because the offense got it done nicely.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The first inning killed them. Stupid awful defensive inning. Shame too because the offense got it done nicely. The offense has scored the 3rd most runs in all of baseball in the month of may....This offense is going to be scary when they get Reyes back. The team just desperately needs some pitching...can johnson be a saviour....come back and pitch well. Can Buehrle continue his form of late? Can dickey turn it around? If those 3 could set the tone and be solid, with this offense the team wins more games than they lose moving forward...
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 s***** loss I was working and missed the game... Can someone please explain to me why we didn't use Janssen? In an extra innings game, you go with your best arms first (Janssen), then you're s***** ones (Weber)... Why was Weber in there?
Anemic0ffense Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 He's hurt. Shoulder. Ahhh ok... I ask because I know Gibbons is smarter than this... Thanks

Why was Weber in there? both teams booted the ball around today. neither wanted to win early, but the jays just dont have enough pitching to not get hurt once it was late into the game.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Terrible loss given that Morrow started and had to leave injured. I don't buy the "he'll make his next start" crap coming out of the Blue Jays, we've seen that before turn into a month+ on the DL for Josh Johnson and others. News of Janssen being injured as well just adds insult to injury. Too bad, but let's hope Johnson can 1st return and then pitch well so hopefully AA can get a bit more than a broken bat for him.
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Man the offense has been great lately, would be nice if we had some reasonable starting pitching
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Man the offense has been great lately, would be nice if we had some reasonable starting pitching Yep. And reasonable is the right word. They're scoring enough that even if the staff could put up average numbers we'd win lots of games.

Drabek and Hutch can't come back soon enough, would be nice to at least have some legit options.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Tough loss. Pitchers are dropping like flies. Rotation: Dickey Buehrle Jenkins ??? ??? Bullpen: Delabar Loup Cecil Lincoln Rogers ??? ??? ??? GROSS
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Also, Lawrie and Reyes both injured. Will these 2 ever be playing at the same time?
SexyNewForum Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I actually don't mind our chances next year given how deadly this offense can be even when have some pure s*** plugs playing every day.

This is true but can this team stay healthy? Lawrie & Reyes never played together. Morrow & Johnson can't stay healthy. Romero has imploded. I am very baffled how Ricky "healthy" Romero has forgot how to pitch in 1 year. If the "new mechanics" aren't working, why not go back to the "old mechanics" that at least got him pitching in MLB games. Ricky Romero" 2nd half 2012 "would be an upgrade over Sean AA Nolin, Ramon Ortiz, Esmil Rogers whatever canon fodder gets put in the rotation until Happ,& Johnson come back.

I doubt that Ricky will ever become a serviceable starter again. He has just fallen so far. I dont think he ever pitches for the Jays again.
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Keep trotting Izturis out there, over and over. Cost us a couple runs with his moronic defense in the first, and couldn't even execute a hit and run properly. Finally he comes up in the bottom of the 10th swinging at first pitch to a guy who's having problems finding the strike zone. Every year we have to field a couple scrubs that have a detrimental effect on the team... Nix, Eveland, Chavez, Jo Jo Reyes etc..
