He might be in the lineup today, but the numbers are all against him. He's hitting .148 with only 5 extra base hits and 60 Ks. And not only that, Upton is 4-24 (.166) against Morrow when he was part of the Rays with 12 K's against the power righty. Evan Gattis went 3-4 last night with a homer, pushing him to hitting an even .500 (7-14) over his last 7 games with 4 homers in that span. As he crossed home plate, he said some things to JP Arencibia, that led to a bench exchange between the teams during the next half inning The Braves have been outscored 34-10 away from home in interleague play this season. They are in a 6 game losing streak vs. AL teams. Jays: Morrow has been due for a good start, after he's given up 11 runs on 17 hits over the past two starts (12 innings in total). The Jays offence has been kind with Morrow on the mound, as despite his bad starts, he still won 4 of his last 5 games because of the offence gifting him 8.62 runs per start Jose Bautista and Encarnacion hope to have good games today as Bautista's hot, hitting .517 (15-29!) with two homers and 5 ribbies over the last 7 games. Encarnacion on the other hand came off a 5 RBI game that saw him hit a three run homer, and is hitting .358 with four homers and 18 runs batted in over the last 13 games. Not only that, but Encarnacion has a good track record against Mahlom, hitting .361 life time against him (13 for 36). Brett Lawrie's listed day to day after a bad slide at second that saw him twist his ankle. Who knows what that means in Jays land though. He did have a hot streak, hitting .411 (7-17) over his past five games. Ricky Romero got shelled in his AAA start last night, as he gave up 8 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks (just for lols his ERA in the game was 108.01). His ERA in Buffalo is ugly (13.85) with his FIP not being much better (8.35). He's been walking the park with 20 walks in 13 innings (13.85 BB/9!). Things aren't looking good for him Standings: http://i.imgur.com/7YCpw3o.png Venue: http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/Diag/RogersCentre.gif I hope you guys enjoy the game and the GDT! Please leave feedback and ideas/improvements for future GDTs! Edited May 28, 2013 by fatcowxlive
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Lol why do they insist on batting Simmons at the top of the lineup?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Lol why do they insist on batting Simmons at the top of the lineup? They don't have anyone as a typical lead-off guy.
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Brandon Morrow on the mound, and the bats are hot... Really "should" win..
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I hope this is the start morrow looks like...morrow. Need to keep winning series, and time for the pitching to step up, the bats have.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 morrow will have one of two types of games type A: strike out 9 walk 1 and give up 1 run in 7 innings type B: strike out 4 walk 5 and give up 8 runs in 4.2 innings Jekyll or Hyde?
Sparky12 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Gose over Lind against lefty Yea I just noticed that, interesting. I am loving how they only play Lind against righties, helps his numbers and most likely his confidence. At least Gose can provide plus defense regardless.

Both have pretty bad bats vs Ls and Gose's ++ D and speed has the potential to make a far bigger impact on the game than what Lind could contribute.

Move coming, maybe Jose 3B, Gose RF, Sierra call up

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Another must win game. Jays are 12-8 in last 20 but only 5-5 in the past 10, need to pick up the pace a bit.
Candide Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Move coming, maybe Jose 3B, Gose RF, Sierra call up too bad for Lawrie. just when there was a mere glimmer of hope that he might be turning the corner with a multi-hit game last night, an injury occurs speaking of Lawrie, what''s wrong with Jason Heyward? the guy is massively struggling this season...
Dude Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Sliding injuries, trying to steal second....in a blow out, seems all too familiar ¯\(ツ)\/¯

He was injured for a while. Had an apendectomy. This is the same nagging injury Adam Dunn had during his horrid 2011 season.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Ooh, early game, didn't realize! What a week they have for travel.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Quote from father Rasmus: "Cory is the best baseball player in the family. He can hit way better than Colby could even dream of hitting. He was forced to switch to pitching after a broken Hamate bone."
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 uh I thought they could just remove the hamate bone? It's not a career killer. Then again, not sure if they can do that surgery on little kids.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Can ppl hear post detailed play by play? for those at work
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Lol 2 direct plays affected by Izturis... He can't handle Jose's throw then can't range to that groundball
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Glad we have that awesome Izturis bat in the line-up though, he'll make up for this, I'm sure!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Izturis is f***ing awful. Izzy 2 for 2 so far on f***ing up defensive plays
Rajaifailedgrade1 Verified Member Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 Izturis is f***ing awful. Honestly 2 straight plays he's botched, he has such a detrimental effect. Why the f*** he playing
