Dwight Smith Jr having a pretty good run right now, his last 10 he's hitting .350/.435/.500 with 1 HR and 5 RBI, 6 K, 6 walks and 2 SB.

I see that Balbino is rocketing through the system. He ought to be in Toronto by 2029.

Still playing to keep all of his bonus. The organization playing him to get some of their money's worth. What a disaster.

Is that Gustavo Pierre? 'cause, frankly... I've liked that kid for a long time I'd I'd love some vindication on that one :P

I got out to see him last year in Lansing, he's really athletic at 3B, underrated defender.

I've been out of the loop for a while... He was SS when last I heard of him...

I know you can't really judge defense on errors, but 117 errors in 289 games is pretty bad

He's Enarnacion-like from what I saw - athletic, great range, great hands, just a s*** arm

And Stroman.

Negrych .390 .4571 .051

Izturis .218 .242 .573

Boni .196 .224 .548

DeRosa .222 .302 .765

I know the numbers wont carry, but at what point does AA get his head out of his ass and admit he s*** the bed. not sure what scouts are telling him about Boni, but this needs to be fixed and the jays need to take a leap of faith. having a guy rake in AAA and being left there while all the MLB options at his position barely show up sends the wrong message to your system.

hard work and success need to be rewarded and futility needs to be abandoned or put in a plastic bag and dropped in the lake. AA is cutting off his nose to spite his own face.

At first it was kind of commendable that AA was standing by his team and didnt want to do anything panicky, but its just gotten ridiculous and a move of some sort needs to be done.

Does he have a chance to make it? Or is he a complete bust?

Raw pop, can run but can't catch the ball and awful discipline at home plate.

the only problem is that AA personally rubber stamped Bonifacio as the second coming and said the Miami deal "hinged" on him. so AA would have to openly take it in the butt for being stupid for anything to happen. he's more the excuse maker and chief type.

Might want to check your spacing on that one, but I think you're preaching to the choir here... I doubt there's a single person on this board that would keep DeRosa over Negrych at this point.

Edit: I single DeRosa out because he's the least versatile and the one I personally expect to be least likely to improve on those numbers...

Thole for Blanco makes the most sense.

I mean if this team plans on having Dickey on the roster past this season why not have Thole up now and catching him? I mean theres no way your going to bring back Blanco after this season so might as well have Thole up getting reps now and thats not even mentioning that hes a better player and hitter then Blanco. Just makes no sense to me whatsoever that they have Thole in the minors when hes possibly better then both there current catchers.

Brando I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but words cannot describe how f***ing terrible he looked when I saw him. Both at third and at the plate.

DeRosa is probably the best option they have at second base. as sad as that is to point out, it's true. Izturis has a rubber arm with no accuracy and little range. Bonifacio cant read the ball off the bat, is slow to react and cant throw. right now the jays have absolutely no offense up the middle and Cobly is the only one that is not a wreck defensively.

Bonifacio is such a rare asset. not often you can get a guy who is so colossally inept at so many positions and has almost no offense to make up for it.

yikes...

Thole up makes sense and can be done as long as AA didn't make one of his famous promises when he signed Blanco. I have no idea why AA thinks keeping players who dont perform gives him credibility. I'd think players respect the will to win more than making promises that are ridiculous, to players who should be begging to get a chance.

the team has a lot of young arms in the system, just not quite ready yet. Beginning next year there should be a lot of pitching.

Yep having depth that you will actually use/callup creates a atmosphere of competitiveness and noone ever feels there job is safe and thats a good thing.

I have to think that if they bring Negrych up, he'll be the "almost everyday" 2B... It would make the most sense that way, but Gibby's got JPA batting 4th, so we're already in Bizarro world...

I have no idea what Gibbons is thinking on that one. I like the Melky, Jose, Ed start to the lineup, but why Lind is not hitting 4th is beyond reasoning. maybe it's because moving Lind to 4th means they have 5 auto outs in a row and moving JPA up breaks the outs up? lol right now the team has a lot of guys who should be riding the pine for being mentally challenged, but the Jays dont have ANY bench options.

it was brutal to hear AA and Gibbons come out and say that Bonifiasco was going to get more playing time after he had 1 good game at the plate. a broken clock is right twice a day, but I wouldn't want to plan my schedule after the time on a broken clock.
