SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Dickey vs zito and morrow vs vogelsong. Only a 2 game series and I think we're gonna win both provided morrow's back is ok. Then we roll into NY and completely turn this season around with a sweep as the yanks come crashing back to earth!
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 This thread is homerlicious, lol. Although I think we've got a great chance vs. the Giants.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 I'll be at the Wednesday game. Really hope they can get the short sweep. Is it confirmed 100% that Morrow is pitching on Wednesday?
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 The first game depends on which Zito shows up. He has been equally dominant and terrible in games. I still like our chances in the first game though as Morrow's soreness is just a big question mark, will he leave balls up in the zone because of it, who knows...

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Vogelsong looking really bad so far, could be his last outing as a starter.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Zito has pitched well this season and Volgelsong despite his struggles has had solid K rates and could be on verge of having a start where he turns it around. I wouldn't say sweep, though a split is definitely reasonable.
Caper Verified Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 My god... every year we end up playing the best National League teams... with a few exceptions.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Scutaro probably has one of the best contact swings in the game. He very rarely swings through a pitch without getting wood on it.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Nah, we're sweeping the giants. Homer or not...I can feel it.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 The JAYS need a very good MAY and they still may have some life.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I think people need to keep expectations realistic. If the Jays sweep great, but a split is ok. If they can keep splitting the 2 and 4 game series and win the 3 game series then they will crawl their way back. An occasional sweep will help, but I don't think its realistic to expect that.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'm cautiously optimistic for a 2 game sweep. Game 1 Zito has developed quite the home/away splits his past few seasons. This year he has pitched 5 home games (hasn't given up more than a run in any of them) with only 2 road starts (couldn't make it past the 4th inning in either start). Pitching on the road against an AL team in a hitter's park spells disaster for him. Still, with the snail-paced start from the Jays you can't pencil in any W's just yet. Game 2 Vogelsong is off to a bad start but his peripherals are showing that he may be the victim of a lot of bad luck. Even so, as long as Morrow is healthy I like the matchup for us.
Dude Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Jays need to look for this pitch to hit against Zito.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'm leaving for a cottage on Wednesday morning and play ultimate on Tuesday night but Giants are a team I'd normally go to as it's not that often. I did get to see the Giants in Chicago already this year though.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Why on earth are the Giants coming out east to play a 2 game series with us anyway? Was the schedule maker on crack or something?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 especially since San Fran leaves Wednesday night for a Thursday game...in Colorado. I think the entire 2 game series was so they could have a 4 game series with Oakland (playing 2 at each stadium)
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I could see the Jays sweeping them, but we need our SP to perform like they're capable of. We really Dickey to have an ace-like game.
NiagaraJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 A buddy at work is already taking bets that the Jays win the division....and he's a Red Sox fan! Maybe he is just pissed that his team got smoked today. But I sure hope he cashes in!

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Did you drive back last night or tie one on and are having a 4 day work week? We drove as far as Bangor last night. 3 hour drive home this morning, work starting at noon. What a great weekend.

It was fun to get pics from the game. If is can get some cover at work, I'm hoping to head down with a group for the next series, though we'll probably only take in two.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 raysnjays? Digiblader is raysjays. sAAviour is a bit of a homer but he isn't annoying by any means. Raysjays is the most insufferable, stupid, ignorant, annoying little bitch on this board.
Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 Can't wait for this series, I feel we will take both games. I'm going to Wednesdays game for sure and maybe Tuesday aswell if it looks like disc golfing is gonna fall through. Good thing we have an off day today so I can actually get some stuff done after work.

SAAviour Verified Member Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 Thanks gordiedougie.....I think.
