KSaw Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 No but it's not God awful. At least he gets some hits and carries an OBP around .300.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 When you look at .221/.265 overall, clearly the key is don't let him face loogys. The overall numbers v just relievers has his OBP around .200
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Something to note, based on career numbers Adam Lind is one of the top pinch hitters of active MLB players. Look up his splits and go to pinch hit stats.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Lind couldn't hit lefties because he always swung at soft off speed away out of the strike zone. I don't know what clicked with Lind this year, but he's seeing the ball so much better. He's showing patience I've never seen before. He's only had 2 at bats against lefties this year and he got a double. The problem with judging Lind is he's in and out of the lineup sometimes missing 3 games in a row...it's tough to keep your production up when you're not getting regular work and getting into a groove. I would like to see Lind get a steady diet of playing time and let him hit against lefties for a few weeks.
ScottGer76 Verified Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 I need to see more of him before I am impressed. If it was up to me he wouldn't be a Jay any longer.
