Shocker. Grrrr.

@jonmorosi: Blue Jays may not have Josh Johnson back until late May. They hope Ricky Romero can hold down the rotation spot until then. @MLBONFOX

I thought I had the scoop and game to make the thread. When I saw one had just been made I presumed "Agh! Angrioter!"

But no. Was another keen poster.

So it goes from "might miss his start" to out a month. Where have we seen this before...

If I'm reading between the lines correctly...and I think I am...pretty sure JJ has died. #RIP #sadface

What do you expect from the assistant GM of JP "it's not a lie if we know the truth" Ricciardi!

So basically he misses a month. Every injury is understated with this organization.

Well Romero must be happy.

Romero might be better considering how JJ was pitching and the potential Romero has if he throws strikes.

They initially thought that it was a grade-1 triceps tear. It's a grade-2. He'll be better than what we saw in April once he returns. No biggie here.

Well that explains a lot. JJ when healthy is a beast and the best SP on this staff. If he comes back by the end of May as reported and he is truly healthy then we got our ace.

This team just needs to inch itself closer to .500 or else it will be all for not.

Clean as in there is no grade-3 tear and nothing wrong with the elbow or shoulder. A grade-2 triceps strain is not a big time injury. Ice, rest and compression bandages and all good.

How do we know the "Gyro Maker" isn't hiding another injury of JJ's

When results come back "clean" that usually refers to no structural damage. If he had a grade 2 there is a high percentage that he wouldn't be throwing this early.

From the sounds of it even with him starting to throw this thursday, the timeline still looks to be near the end of May.

So what you're saying is the end of june is when we should really expect him back

I guess it's how one defines structural damage. I mean a twisted ankle includes tearing. A triceps strain includes tearing. I'm not exactly sure how they define the results. A grade-2 strain is 10 days-6 weeks recovery. That's a pretty big gap.

I basically don't believe a thing that comes out of AA's or Gibbys mouth. With the whole Rmero thing in spring training, I have no trust at all. It's no surprise that JJ will be missing 4 weeks.

Like McGowan could be ready to be in the pen on opening day? Lol. And speaking of McGowan, it's so fishy that he's on the 60-day DL being that he's at Extended Spring Training throwing 96 mph heat. Don't fall over from shock when he's a starter again when he begins his rehab assignment in about 10 days. And if it isn't in about 10 days, that's super fishy!
