G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Shocker. Grrrr. @jonmorosi: Blue Jays may not have Josh Johnson back until late May. They hope Ricky Romero can hold down the rotation spot until then. @MLBONFOX
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I thought I had the scoop and game to make the thread. When I saw one had just been made I presumed "Agh! Angrioter!" But no. Was another keen poster.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 So it goes from "might miss his start" to out a month. Where have we seen this before...
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't pitch for us again. "Tricep soreness" sounds very suspicious.
declan_44 Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I won't how low his free agent market is these days?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 The bad news keeps on pouring in. *sighs* Again we deserve good news re Reyes
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 If this is true, we won't even get compensation for him. This is our luck.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 So it goes from "might miss his start" to out a month. Where have we seen this before... If I'm reading between the lines correctly...and I think I am...pretty sure JJ has died. #RIP #sadface

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Our front office is officially a joke.... Not that we really needed anymore confirmation. RIP 2013 season.

NiagaraJaysFan Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 What Thursday is that? The fourth Thursday in July? This FO is full of deceipt and dishonesty. What do you expect from the assistant GM of JP "it's not a lie if we know the truth" Ricciardi!
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 How do they continue to underestimate every single injury? Every single one
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 So basically he misses a month. Every injury is understated with this organization.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Well Romero must be happy. Romero might be better considering how JJ was pitching and the potential Romero has if he throws strikes.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 They initially thought that it was a grade-1 triceps tear. It's a grade-2. He'll be better than what we saw in April once he returns. No biggie here.

No biggie here. Well that explains a lot. JJ when healthy is a beast and the best SP on this staff. If he comes back by the end of May as reported and he is truly healthy then we got our ace.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 This team just needs to inch itself closer to .500 or else it will be all for not.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Clean as in there is no grade-3 tear and nothing wrong with the elbow or shoulder. A grade-2 triceps strain is not a big time injury. Ice, rest and compression bandages and all good.

Ice, rest and compression bandages and all good. When results come back "clean" that usually refers to no structural damage. If he had a grade 2 there is a high percentage that he wouldn't be throwing this early. From the sounds of it even with him starting to throw this thursday, the timeline still looks to be near the end of May.

So what you're saying is the end of june is when we should really expect him back
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I guess it's how one defines structural damage. I mean a twisted ankle includes tearing. A triceps strain includes tearing. I'm not exactly sure how they define the results. A grade-2 strain is 10 days-6 weeks recovery. That's a pretty big gap.
Jonzo Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I basically don't believe a thing that comes out of AA's or Gibbys mouth. With the whole Rmero thing in spring training, I have no trust at all. It's no surprise that JJ will be missing 4 weeks.

And speaking of McGowan, it's so fishy that he's on the 60-day DL being that he's at Extended Spring Training throwing 96 mph heat. Don't fall over from shock when he's a starter again when he begins his rehab assignment in about 10 days. And if it isn't in about 10 days, that's super fishy!
