G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 @billsportsnews: According to Jerry howarth on rays radio yesterday he thinks jays make move sooner than later - mentioned thole and gose
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 We'd need a change in bench philosophy or a trade for this to happen. The obvious move is Lincoln to Buffalo and one of these guys up, but we'd have to bail on Blanco or DeRosa for both to come up. If AA made promises to those guys, I can't see it happening without a trade (Rasmus out?).
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 @billsportsnews: According to Jerry howarth on rays radio yesterday he thinks jays make move sooner than later - mentioned thole and gose Gose will be call up if someone get injured; call up Thole has no sense because Machete has done very well.

Those is much better than Blanco. Blanco provides almost no value to this team over Thole. There's no reason why Thole can't Dickey considering he did it all last year.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Thole isn't up because Gibby would start him and sit JPA. AA isn't ready to let that happen. That isn't opinion. I know. Former catcher Gibbons is beside himself and is stuck playing Arencibia because Blanco is a dead zone. Truth? Gibbons would have played Blanco Sunday to send a message if he had any leverage. He wants to keep his job.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I'll wait until a credible source reports this. Howarth is just speculating. Listened to maybe 5 minutes of the radio broadcast this year and it was Jerry going on some rant about the Jays record with the roof open and the roof half open. Mindlessness.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Jerry is speculating but he does eat the same prime rib buffet with Beeston and AA.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 No need to be snarky. Unless its get away day the post game spread is sweet. Everyone's there.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 I don't picture AA proclaiming loudly enough for others to hear about player moves he's considering though.
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 We would then be parting with one of the veterans. So basically no, it won't happen.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Jerry is speculating but he does eat the same prime rib buffet with Beeston and AA. Actually, Jerry eats in the press box 95% of the time with the rest of the media. The only thing worse than a know-it-all is a know it all who consistently makes s*** up.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I hope they can do something soon. jays have a useless bench that keeps getting way too many starts the way things are now. at least the whole team(except bonifiasco) had much better AB the last 2 games. yesterday if finally payed off. LETS GO BLUE JAYS!!!!
ziggery Verified Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 In a previous forum I suggested that Beeston and AA probably made a deal with Bob Rich to keep homeboy Negrych and guys like Gose, Sierra and Thole in Buffalo for attendence purposes. Not to mention the face saving delay in improving the Jays at the cost of a season? You think?

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I'd assume this is more what Howarth wants to happen than what is going to happen.
Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 @billsportsnews: According to Jerry howarth on rays radio yesterday he thinks jays make move sooner than later - mentioned thole and gose If true that will be great. Hopefully the right people get DFA.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 *cue Lawrie DFA* Well AA does love his vets and I doubt Lawrie can give a speech like Derosa that has already paid dividends with out 1 game win streak. The results speak for themselves.

wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Remember when AA signed Jamie Moyer? Ahh, vetrin presents. Too bad he was 4/5 years too late.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 More like 10/15 years too late, but fair point. Holy crap Moyer played for a while.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 During the game sure. Not being a know it all. It is a good spread. Of course I don't know who eats where each day. What I do know is that there's lots of post game mingling and people keep their ears open and do gossip. BTW, Gose 0-5 tonight with 4 strikeouts. Sierra still hitting very well.

One game doesn't really change my opinion on the kid yet. Plus, Baltimore was throwing out MLB pitchers all game, lol. Gose is fine. On a related note, Dave Bush f***ing suuuuuuuuuuuuucks.
KSaw Verified Member Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 They were all very good pitchers for AAA and Manny Delcarmen is rediscovering how to be nasty. That said, in the Majors all the pitchers are Major League pitchers. It indicates that he has a ways to go. The game also helped show how polished Sierra has become at the plate.

Yeah, the same Moises Sierra with a 5.5% BB%? At least he isn't striking out over 20% of the time? Steve Johnson was pretty huge for the Orioles last year. Gose is fine.

Sierra as a RH DH/bench bat would be so good to have. they are missing an extra power bat. cant expect DeRosa to be the hero every night. lol

Steve Johnson was pretty huge for the Orioles last year. Gose is fine. Hard to worry about the BB rate when he's hitting .360 and coming up with 2 strike singles to all fields. That shows maturity. I can agree that Gose is fine but I need to add that he's not ready. He's fine as a talent and with his development.
