WOOOO! Jays won in the first GDT of this forum, in a blowout 10-2 victory with Morrow going 8 strong innings of 2 run ball. So discuss this win that took us to our 11-21 record!

Cinco de Mayo...may I suggest either a Mexican beer, Margarita or Pina Colada. Either that or cocaine.

All great suggestions.

In that case, I'll be drinking Sol since the Jays actually showed some today.

I think we need Angrioter's input here.

Nice to come through that was not just a "must-win", but a "should-win". Even with the lousy lineup (on paper) that Gibbons put out there today the pitching matchup heavily favoured us, plus getting swept at home is an extreme rarity, no matter the opponent. But while we're happy today, it doesn't erase the poor performances the team had in the homestand up to this point, as we still lost both series. Still, we always want to believe that every win is the start of something positive, particularly a lopsided one like today's. It's just part of being a fan.

Great to see Melky finally find his power stroke with his first HR of the season, and of course getting unexpected contributions from guys like DeRosa is always nice, especially when the team's "good" hitters are struggling. Flying under the radar was Maicer Izturis with 3 solid hits. I know he hasn't been too popular but I think we can expect more performances like this from him. He's too good at making contact to keep hitting .200.

Most satisfying performance of the day definitely goes to Brandon Morrow. Outside of the strangely wild 5th inning he was at his best, using his great fastball and slider to mow down the Mariners hitters. Can't ignore the bad inning of course but it was a relief to see him come back out with 3 more strong innings, rather than completely melting down as we've seen some times in the past.

Didn't watch much of the game today.

Watched the inning where Morrow almost imploded. Good to see him recover and finish strongly but wtf is it with this guy and the occasional meltdowns with runners on base?

That could've gotten ugly there.

I really hope this can get a streak going. The only saviour to the Jays season is a big 8-12 game WS

Did you have to remind us of the 11-21 record? LOL, I was getting excited for a bit, that brought me back to reality. Still on pace for a top 3 pick.

ps what time zone is this board on? Is there a way to change it?

You need to go into your settings and change it. I did the same cause the time was off.

This is now a .500 team without Lawrie in the lineup. Not saying he's a cancer...just pointing it out

Coincidence, just coincidence.

Been a while since we had anything to celebrate, so enjoy it brothers!

Nice new forum, Jays kicked butt, not bad for a beautiful Sunday afternoon!

lawrie has been a huge disappointment since his first callup showed so much promise

hes not as big as a difference maker as many here believe

hes a nice piece on a championship team, NOT someone to build around

a good 6-7 hitter

Why aren't the new mods coming down with their respective banhammers?!

There will always be an adjustment period, hopefully they aren't allowed to inundate this one like the other one...
