Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 That's three straight starts for SRF with 2 walks or less, maybe its nothing, hopefully its a trend. The kid is must follow. So intriguing
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Pompey will / should be back up here after the ASB.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Pompey: 2-3. Sounds like he is close to coming back up
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Sounds like he is close to coming back up Between Pompey's play in the minors and Goins getting playing time in the outfield, you would certainly think it's time.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Sounds like he is close to coming back up He will be a huge defensive upgrade.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I'm down for Pompey in LF. Carrera has done a solid job as a depth option, but Pompey has the defense and upside the Jays need in the second half, and Colabello has done about as much as he's ever going to do offensively (no where to go but down).

Flip Colabello for some international signing money! I guess they could just keep Colabello is the 4th OF, since Pompey and Pillar are both centre fielders. Decent pinch hitter to bring off the bench too. Saunders could be back sort of soon too, which will muddle things up. Colabello just plain will not fit at that point.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I hope Pompey is brought back up soon, but maybe they'll send him to Buffalo first?
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Does Norris' outing tonight mean he won't be making a spot start? His previous start was dominant and it didn't get him recalled, so I doubt it. Who knows what's going on with Norris. I thought they'd bring him up instead of OhBoyd since Boyd wasn't even on the 40-man roster, but once again, I was wrong.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Harris starting for Vancouver tonight.
baubau Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I believe AA went to see Norris tonight - per the pregame interview with AA today. Wonder what the conversations between AA and Norris are like.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Someone in the Jays media mentioned on Twitter that Norris could start in the White Sox series, and mentioned the White Sox as being terrible against LHP (Boyd and Buehrle are set to pitch in that series as well). Wouldn't shock me if Norris gets his next regular turn in Chicago, if true.

theblujay Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Norris only had 1K in 7 innings ;/ Yikes, how much walks?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 2BB, 6R, 4 ER, 97 pitches - 64 strikes, 6H (2 for extra bases, a 3B and a solo homerun to the # 9 hitter).
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Lets hope he can still add some velocity as he grows. Otherwise, Estrada 2.0
metafour Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Lets hope he can still add some velocity as he grows. Otherwise, Estrada 2.0 If you can get Marco Estrada out of a 5th round pick, then you won. I don't agree with your premise however. He can have legitimate MLB success throwing 89-92 if his fastball has movement. Estrada's problem is that his fastball is flat.
baubau Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 At 18 he already has more velocity. They are righties, that speak Spanish, and have last names that start with 'E'. That's where the similarities end. Now I haven't checked, but I assume they are also both males. Similarties, the sequel continues!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 That's rumored. Not confirmed. Only a related note, some MLB scout should write a report on that Moyeux (sp) chick from France. I'm sure fielding could be comparable to baseball pros, but her swing was loopy and slow.
