TRM Verified Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I'm gonna be honest, I'm a bit offended that you listed me at the bottom of the list of people owed apologies. I think you owe me an apology for that. I apologize.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Holy f*** they party hard in Copenhagen. Do they ever.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Tell that to everyone else. I tried to move him for a week and couldn't even get a 6th round pick. He put up a 3.18 ERA in the second half of the season last year, with a K/BB of 3. The wins aren't a stretch if our offense if healthy (and no black hole at C or LF).
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Also it would be hilarious if this last minute deal that seems like nothing turned into major significance. If Joyce had some breakout year where he went 90/30/95 with an .850 OPS. Or if Buehrle somehow had a mid 3 ERA with a 3.5 K:BB and 18 wins. They're both shite but I think Buerhle's more useful. Good news for BTS though, Dempster wont pitch this year so Doubront has a rotation spot. Bad news about Iwakuma tho.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Do they ever. 5 am on Friday, 6 am last night. I barely know where I am right now.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I predict Buehrle is on the waiver wire by July.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I think he's a useful starter in this format. He's old, but he hasn't really shown any signs of decline. For a team with only 5-6 starters I think he's a nice depth addition. I'll admit I overlooked his K:BB. It's the lineups he's going to be facing in the AL though. I think it's very likely he ends up hurting you in ERA and OBPA most weeks. The low K total isn't enough to justify it for me.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 You're probably looking at 10-15 wins, ~125 Ks, an ERA a bit over 4, and a K/BB of about 2.5. Use him carefully and I think you can squeeze value out of him. If you bench him against the Yankees, Red Sox, Rangers, Angels etc and play him against the weaker teams; there's definitely some value there.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The stage is being prepared for Doubront's big breakout. It will be glorious. And yes. I'm hoping Kuma is only out a month. I just traded Cingrani+ for Kuma in FC so I can't even take pleasure in your loss
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Dempster quitting baseball for a year. Arroyo was my last cut. Can I make the swap?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I don't see the harm. I'll make the change, and if one of the powers that be want to reverse it they can. I also personally have zero problem with it. We haven't even reached the mandatory cut down date yet.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Dempster quitting baseball for a year. Arroyo was my last cut. Can I make the swap? It's funny. Our Byrd for Dempster swap resulted in both players being cut anyway. Poor guys.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 What's even sadder? I'll be looking to draft Byrd. I just threw up a little in my mouth.

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Big ups to BTS (aka Cheeto) for inputting all of the rosters into Yahoo (save for Spankystein's)
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm sure spanky will make his cuts as soon as he gets out of the drunk tank.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm sure spanky will make his cuts as soon as he gets out of the drunk tank. That's really the most you can ask for.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Or maybe he got hit in the head with a beer stein again? Maybe he couldn't pull through this time? Is it time to send out a search party, or is it just a lost cause.. Who's in line in the BBDL to take his place and carry on Spankys Legacy? There's that 1 poster in the BBDL that goes by the name boxy, seems like he knows how to build a team, I vote him.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I don't trust the powers that be to make a decision so I named my team successor in my will.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Rosters are in, divisions are set, and you guys can set your lineups and start preparing for the waiver draft by looking at the players still available in the yahoo database. This is awesome. Thanks for getting them in.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I may or may not have said "..and now introducing your starting _________" like the pre-game announcers do, before I inserted each player into my lineup.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 Noticed that Nolan Arenado has 500 PA, so JaysBlue has to call him up as per our MiLB roster management rules. He acknowledged this earlier ITT when he made his cuts, and listed a 20 man roster that had Arenado on it while having no Billingsley, but he didn't list Billingsley in his "cuts" section of that post. Sil, is Billingsley the guy you want to cut for Arenado?

Sil, is Billingsley the guy you want to cut for Arenado? Forgot about listing Billingsley as one of my cuts. I did say however I'd call up Arenado and place him on my 20 man roster due to those reasons, so he should be apart of my 20-man roster, not Bills.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 Starting pitching is so f***ing thin in this waiver draft. Top of the available by o-rank: 1. Wandy 2. Bruce Chen (Yordano and Duffy could take his rotation spot; RP) 3. Jorge De La Rosa 4. Chad Gaudin (released 4 days ago) 5. Carlos V (no rotation spot; RP) 6. Brandon Cumpton (who?) 7. Jeff Locke 8. Zach McAllister 9. Tom Gorzellany (RP) 10. Jason Vargas 11. Colby Lewis (on a minor league deal I think) 12. Ross Ohlendorf 13. Jeanmar Gomez 14. David Hale 15. Todd Redmond 16. Chad Jenkins Pure sex
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Solid lineup. It will likely be above average. I think you're a pitcher or two short of making the playoffs as of right now. Thanks. Yeah I really like how my lineup looks heading into this season - really excited landing Freeman and interested to see what Myers & Profar do over a full season. I'm hoping to trade one or two of my bats for a MLB pitcher or two which I think I'll be able to pull off come Opening Day.
