Laika Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Who has more 2014 upside - Zach McAllister, Bud Norris, Matt Harrison, or NL Jason Hammel? Toss up for my 20th keep... pitching is hard to find midseason so I figure I'll keep an SP6. These guys all have some things to like (and more to dislike). Keep lottery ticket Jon Villar, or keep 2 of those ^ arms? Someone give me advice so I can do the opposite.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 So... at what point can we start adding players to yahoo rosters for teams who have made cuts? As soon as you want (all cuts are final bro)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Someone give me advice so I can do the opposite. Drop them all and go into the season short handed to prove how good you are.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Harrison. That's who I have penciled in, but Norris misses more bats and I'm not sure if I'm being mislead by Harrison's ERA in 2012 and 2011. Two years doesn't make someone a DIPS beater.
torontofan Verified Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Not official, but potential roster cuts: Justin Grimm, Henry Urrutia, Emilio Bonifasio, Aaron Loup, Dane De La Rosa, Antonio Bastardo, Cody Ross, Micheal Young, David Hernandez

Or am I giving you the opposite of the opposite of what I would do if I was trying to give you the opposite to sabotage your pick? Or am I just trying to confuse the s*** out of you?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Any idea why the "edit rosters" commish option is grayed out? Probably because there are no rosters yet. I'm assuming what we want to use is "submit offline draft results" or something like that?
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I believe all recent cuts have been made on the spread. Cuts made: Dinger No49 KingKat Havok Sammy BTS Boxy TCA FTD Still have to make cuts (one week left): Realmin Hurl GP JF Zeros TOfan silvergun speedygose spanky jaysblue fearless leader Reminder that all cuts once posted anywhere are final, and the enforcement of this rule is doled out at my (and Dinger/BTS') discretion. Only two managers currently has an excess prospect (Jays Fever and Silvergun, in case someone was looking to acquire a penny stock before the season starts). We f***ed up somewhere because silvergun and speedygose both are listed with waiver pick #88, so some clarification there would be kewl. Please check your rosters for any errors and discrepancies. Administration note: if you have 6 waiver picks and you submit a cutdown roster of 20 names, then your 6th pick immediately vanishes into the ether. To use the extra pick, you would have to only keep 19 dudes. I think our trade was #32 for Morneau and #88. So 88 should belong to Silvergun
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I'll drop Mitch Moreland to finalize my cuts.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Did Yahoo disable pre-rankings? If so I'm pissed. Yahoo seems determined to sacrifice functionality for esthetics lately. The new email sucks. The new My Yahoo no longer has Facebook integration (the one feature that made it worhwhile). After years of loyalty, I was just about the only person I knew that hadn't switched to Gmail but they've driven me to it over the past year. Drafting is going to be a pain in the ass withoug the ability to pre-rank once and export to all teams.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 It looks the same to me? Draft Central > Pre-Draft Player Rankings > Edit My Rankings
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Are we going to be shifted back into our respective division on the Yahoo page now that all the teams are signed up? Or is that a shifting thing?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Divisions are constant. This is very important. This is what I understood.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 It looks the same to me? Draft Central > Pre-Draft Player Rankings > Edit My Rankings OK. Cool. You used to be able to get there by simply clicking on your team where you'd see a countdown and a pre-rank option. I don't recall ever getting there through the Draft Central tab but as long as it's still there somewhere, it doesn't matter.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Just like that, Justin Upton gets traded for the 2nd time this offseason, without even getting to play a game for the WAR Puigs.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Deal went like this... BTS Receives: Doug Fister Silvergun Receives: Justin Upton + MLB Waiver #78 Cat's Ass Receives: Billy Hamilton + MiLB #12 + MLB Waiver #12 + MiLB #14 + Arismendy Alcantara + Kole Calhoun

TRM Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 If anyone has a spare bat that figures to be more valuable than what's available via the waiver draft, I might be interested. Can be any position. Not looking for anything huge. Pieces in play would be picks, prospects (not Synder or Bogaerts), and Doubront/Buehrle of you want a back-end arm. Howard/Salty/Grandal of interest?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 stfu Don't worry Boxy, your day will come, and you'll shine like the brightest star in the sky.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Boxy's just jelly when good players get traded. Come on now. Be gentle. Boxy had a good player once...
torontofan Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 More trades tonight: KingKat gets: Wilmer Flores + pick 37 Silvergun gets: M. Franco KingKat gets: R. Odor + pick 13 + Middlebrooks Torontofan gets: Ryan Zimmerman

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I really like what BTS gave up to get Fister. That combined with what he gave up for Lester. He's really built a solid staff this offseason.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 lol I had a feeling it was BTS who traded for Fister.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I feel like I had BTS beat with both of my offers for Fister/Lester, but it's probably just me being biased towards my own prospects.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That was a pretty big Haul for Upton. Seems to be a lot more than Zero received
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Care to share what you offered? I have no problem with sharing but I should probably see if they're cool with it before posting what they turned down.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That was a pretty big Haul for Upton. Seems to be a lot more than Zero received I'm not in love with either Upton deal but this one is pretty fair and easily better than what zeros got.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 For Upton Billy Hamilton + MiLB #12 + MLB Waiver #12 + Doug Fister vs Delino DeShields Jr, Rafael Montero, James Paxton, Sean Nolin, MiLB pick #22 I guess it depends on what how valuable you think the #12 picks are. Also depends on how much you value Fister as a fantasy asset. I like my return as I really like Montero.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That was a pretty big Haul for Upton. Seems to be a lot more than Zero received much more than what he was getting from me...not to mention I've been responding about 5 days after our counteroffers so I'm sure it was frustrating for him. I think we were at Springer, Wood and the #5 waiver for Upton but I wanted a good waiver spot back.
