Laika Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 How many bbdl members do we even have involved as co-managers? I would root and and destroy the presence of all of them if it meant keeping silvergun, who is a pillar of the DDL community.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I think it's me, King, and Orgfiller
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Boo, I am an on the record Silvergun fun. Stay buddy!
TRM Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I too, really hope that Silvergun decides to stay.

I would root and and destroy the presence of all of them if it meant keeping silvergun, who is a pillar of the DDL community. Ace is technically my co-manager in that he has the power to set my rosters and such but he's never actively managed anything about my team. I doubt Silvergunn even knew about this. I really wish Silvergunn hadn't made this decision at the height of Bengals induced despair. He's satly as f*** but he's a great manager and a perfect gentleman when it comes to the important stuff like trade negotiations and the like. It seems wrong to just hand over all his excellent work to someone else but the die seems like it's cast.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I don't actually believe that co-managers had anything to do with his decision, but if this puts an end to teams being run by committee, there's a silver lining to him leaving. I always thought the saltiness was temporary, but it looks like the salt won. RIP silvergun

North is flat out giving GD the reins and I don't really know of any true committees.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I have emailed him to ask him to reconsider, but I don't expect a reply

North can't manage for the next little while, so GD is taking over temporarily so North can have his team back when he's less busy. I didn't know before today that King, Ace, or Orgfiller were even co-managers.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Wow. What was the real reason he's leaving? It seems pretty sudden.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 He's a lot more cranky than he used to be, and has been for awhile. I guess he just doesn't like it here anymore. What can you do. Just don't give his team to cyborg

I don't mind those guys but ace's tendency to ignore rules and then get indignant about it makes me kinda hope NJH crushes co managers with an iron fist.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Maybe we can do a sort of combo expansion-dispersal draft. Everyone enters with 18 players, and the new owner gets the first 5 picks or something.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 this whole thing makes me sad.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Looks like it was his dying wish. Have to at least honor that. All he said that was that you were his favourite from that league. He didn't say we had to pick anyone from it. In fact, I really think it would be truer to the memory of Silvergunn if we despaired the lot of you and just went with a new guy we like.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 this whole thing makes me sad. Losing a champ the year after his title is sad.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Ok, here is what I'm proposing to address silvergun's departure. Since it wouldn't really be fair to the long-time owners (esp basement dwellers) to simply hand over the best team in DDL to an outsider, I propose a one-time special purpose dispersal draft. The goal of this dispersal draft is to equip the incoming new owner with a roughly average DDL team that they have some say in creating, while also creating some league parity by dispersing some of silvergun's excellent team. Here is what I'm thinking: 1) The new owner gets silvergun's farm team. 2) Everyone cuts down to 19 player rather than the usual 20. 3) A draft commences prior to the waiver draft as follows:

New Owner

20th Place

New Owner

19th Place

New Owner

18th Place

New Owner

17th Place

New Owner

16th Place

New Owner

15th Place

New Owner

14th Place

New Owner

13th Place

New Owner

12th Place

New Owner

11th Place

New Owner

12th Place

New Owner

11th Place

New Owner

10th Place

New Owner

9th Place

New Owner

8th Place

New Owner

7th Place

New Owner

6th Place

New Owner

5th Place

New Owner

4th Place

New Owner

3rd Place

2nd Place

Everyone from silvergun's team and all players cut from their team's final 19 players are eligible for the dispersal draft. New players (such as internationals) who have never been owned are not eligible, and will fall into the waiver draft which follows the dispersal draft. At the end of the dispersal draft, each team will have 20 players and all remaining players will go into the waiver draft, which will begin at the normal time.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 We aren't moving forward with anything at the moment. I'll talk to silvergun via email and try to get to the bottom of things. #1 priority is retaining silvergun
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I also disagree with dispersal. Just get a new owner. It best maintains the league integrity.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) If he is truly leaving, I think he should decide what happens to his team, since I'm assuming he doesn't have a son to pass it on to. League should 100% decide what to do with the team. Since, you know, we're the ones that are still here and everything.. Only way the team owner should get to choose a replacement is if they die. Not if they just quit. Edited January 11, 2016 by The Cats Ass
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Maybe he's just in a mood. Give him a couple days to think it over.

I don't have any skin in the game, but my suspicion is that it would potentially unfairly vault the lower mid-range teams over the fringe playoff ones. Why not auction off a few of the higher end, older players (you could have an outside panel determine the strongest return), and let whoever takes over the team keep the younger ones. Say, auction off Edwin, Cargo, Hamels, and Chapman or something.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Cyborg's posts over the last three pages should result in a lifetime ban from the DDL.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Soooo NJH, any progress on the silvergun front? I see he signed into PB within the last 24 hours.
