Wouldn't Naquin be eligible to be added after the waiver draft since he played AA in 2014?

We decided that playing in AA during the current year wasn't enough for free agent eligibility due to problems that arise with making players eligible at a specific time.

 

I thought the resolution was that players needed to play AA in past seasons to gain eligibility. I'm not aware of a discrepancy in waiver draft eligibility and free agent eligibility.

What's Dinger's play? Is he merely going to do the obvious thing and replace the closer he had to trade away? (I'd say more than likely since he's doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to over-complicate his strategy or try to make himself look like the smartest guy in the room).
