Unless I'm missing something, the last regular season scoring period in this league is set up to be the week of September 7-13, but we don't actually have anything scheduled. If we start our planned 4-team playoff that week we won't use the last week of the regular season.

As things stand we have 3 playoff weeks reserved for a 4-team playoff. If we start the playoffs that week, we could still get an 8-team playoffs in.

that's weird.

i guess we'll just do the 8 team playoffs since that's a slightly quicker fix than manually entering matchups for the final regular season week

I know this was already recapped elsewhere but I forget where.

Now that the prospect and waiver drafts have merged, will they occur in Feb/March year? Example -- The 2021 draft picks will be for March 2021?

Yeah, NPD will be every winter. But the waiver draft doesn't exist anymore. There are no more cut-downs.

Yeah, one draft every year. A New Player Draft in Feb/March. Any signed player without MLB experience is eligible so it covers rule 4 draftees from the prior year, July international free agent babies, and even bigger offseason IFAs.

The NPD in 2021 will be super weak and weird as the 2020 MLB draft has already been picked over AND we haven't had a 2020 MiLB season to get data on prospect risers/fallers.

Full dynasty so you can add/drop eligible players freely all 12 months of the year.

No more cut-down deadlines. There are some mandatory promotions out of the minor leagues at the time of the NPD if a player on a minor league roster has a lot of MLB experience (higher thresholds than we used before, check the new Rules section).

Some minor roster rules are a little bit in flux. We might do something like limit the IL during the offseason so teams don't hoard a gross amount of IL players all winter.

We might expand MiLB rosters a bit before the 2021 NPD.

But end of year, you need to cut down to 25 though, right? So you can’t carry the extra red flags?

Asking here but obviously for BORED, assuming they’re the same

You will be able to carry red flags up to the limit (limit may vary by league, but generally 5).

You will be able to do adds/drops of players with MLB experience throughout the offseason. For example, you may want to add a guy coming back from the Nippon League.

Any cuts would be in advance of and during the NPD as you decide whether to cut bait on some prospect you own or end of roster guy in order to add an available prospect.

To further what Jim said players do keep their red flags through the off season. If they show up at spring training the flag is almost always removed. You can't really just keep a player without a red flag on the IR until the season starts either as you need no roster errors to make any move...including participating in the NPD

Brantley hasn't played in a few days and was just IL'd, and Bauer hasn't started this week because of the Reds covid case.

Apparently my offense finally decided to wake up. Too late for this season, but it's still nice to see.

I appreciate it.

Don't look now, but Realmuto is Real-awesome! 100% Muto -- none of the fake knock off Mutos you see.

Get your offer in now!

When's the last time someone traded for a star catcher and didn't regret it one or two years later? Posey?

Considering FTD acquired Realmuto via trade...probably him?

Why's he desperately trying to get rid of him, then?

There you have it folks. The icing on the cake...

Not only are you getting the top ranked catcher, but if a manager as incompetent as Boxy disapproves of trading for him, it all but guarantees trading for him is the right decision.

I think I already regret trading for Gary Sanchez.

Yu Darvish starts tomorrow and for a nice offer of a top prospect and/or high pick (or pick upgrade) he can be yours ahead of the game. It's a 2 start week for the former Blue Jay.

He will be moved, regardless, before the deadline but ideally for your team and playoff prospects, now is the time to get him.

He's doing a slow tear-down of his core. Mike Trout will be dealt soon enough.

The Beach Cowboys are putting a few guys up on the block for contending teams:

Sonny Gray - Have already received some interest. Top 10 pitcher in baseball right now with a near 40% K-rate.

Andrew Heaney - Healthy and giving up only an opponent wOBA of .291

Eric Hosmer - has completely re-invented his swing with a 17.5 LA this year and a .424 xWOBA

Marcus Semien - On top of a stacked A's lineup and coming off a 137 wRC+ season. Only 29.

Tyler Duffey - Ace reliever; 5 holds, no runs allowed, 42% K rate; 0 walks

Keen on pitching prospects and or young 1B, C. Not really interested in picks, unless projected to be higher in the 1st round. Send offers on Fantrax!

If he doesn't play first base, I'm not interested

And btw, I'm happy that my letting you beat me in our consolation matchup was such an important event in your e-life

Wish I could get in on this. I have many first basemen.
