If you waste a 20-man roster spot on f***ing Tom Gorzelanny I'm not going to feel bad for you when you end up in 30th place this year.

I was being facetious, man. You guys are the worst.

I suppose you could if you decided to cut down to 19 players before the draft, but your team would have to be awfully s***** in that case.

So you're saying that this is something Boxy should look into?

If anyone's wondering......

Gardner for my 63rd Milb Rule 4 pick.

Please do continue to post them. Very helpful for those of us in the BBDL as we try to gauge player value when we run into this situation in a year.

Keep in mind, this is pre-cutdown value. In-season Gardner's value is higher (I paid a 2nd for him). Although with that said, he may be a 4th OF now behind Ellsbury/Beltran/Soriano. Or he could get traded.

Wouldnt they just stick Beltran at DH?

If anybody wants to take two of Ryu, Beachy and Archer for a slightly superior pitcher, give me a shout.

Similarly, if anybody wants to take two of Bourn, Torii and Gardner for a slightly superior OF, give me a shout.

I'd be willing to throw in Balfour too if it makes a deal work.

I sent you an idea

Have fun with this:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiKIdMktKhYNdExxYUhpb05wT2J1ZXJGTkVQNElDdVE&usp=sharing

7x7 is HR, R, RBI, SB, AVG (could be H), OBP, SLG, W, K, SV, HLD, ERA, WHIP (could be OBPA), K/BB

5x5 is HR, R, RBI, SB, AVG, W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP

Wins are actual fantasy wins. Replacement would change based on league depth. It's currently roughly on a 20 team level. Strictly from Steamer Projections.

Cool, thanks. Anthony Rizzo @ 20th lol. Even I'm not that optimistic on him.

lol, some of these are legitimately insane. Travis Snider cracked the top 200, edging out Cain, Latos, and Iwakuma. Walrus is even higher!

The Steamer projection for Snider is...optimistic.

22 K%, 108 wRC+

Don't blame me, blame their projections!

Snider 15 HR, 8 SB, 108 wRC+

I know they're not your projections, but I still don't really get how he's that high based on that optimistic but fairly pedestrian Steamer. For whatever reason, pitchers seem to be really, really low. I suppose it's because they are essentially locked out of contributing in basically 2 categories.

I have to cut down Kepler and Hahn. Anyone interested?

I actually like Hahn, but there is just no room. Best offer takes them, even MiLB or Waiver pick upgrade may get it done.

Posted
I actually don't know who those players are.

completely understandable, not high profile. Hahn is an interesting story. Kepler is just a guy I though might break out (drafted right at the end of last years MiLB draft)

Isn't the minor league cutoff like really far away?

It's over a month away. It probably won't be until the last week of February. You can however make cuts whenever you like.

What? I though we didn't cut minor leaguers until June before the draft?

MiLB rosters have to be cut to 12 by late-February and MLB rosters have to be cut to 20. Prior to the MiLB draft in June, you need to cut down your MiLB roster depending on how many picks you intend to use. If you have 4 picks and you plan on using them all, you will need to cut down to 8 prospects, etc.

Or to put it another way, the only time you can be over 12 minor leaguers is between the off-season and the roster cut-off and the only way you can put yourself in that scenario is if you intentionally put yourself in it through trades. I guess that's why this didn't really register with me.

Just a nice fit for both of us. I like Ryu almost as much as Anibal going forward, but if Anibal keeps some of his gains from this year then I got the best player. NJH had his choice of Beachy or Archer, so I think that will be an interesting angle to follow as well.

I would have taken Beachy as well. Anibal is clear cut over Ryu IMO.

Sale

Fernandez

Sanchez

Bumgarner

Medlen

Shields

Is downright filth.

Thanks. I'm curious to see how Medlen does next year, his 2nd half numbers were spectacular (actually his career 1st/2nd half splits are quite pronounced albeit probably not fully regressed).

Also, BBDL owners would be wise to check out Ryu's 2nd half splits: 2.73 FIP, 2.95 xFIP, 6.10 K/BB, 52.4% GB

Potential breakout guy for 2014 and he could win 20 on a stacked LAD team.

Between my Top 4, I really have no expectations as to who's going to be the best next year. I hope it's Fernandez as I own him in both of my dynasties. I'll just be happy if they all stay healthy.
