BTS Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Under 16k in attendance to get assaulted by beach balls last night despite literally giving a bunch of tickets away for free.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Under 16k in attendance to get assaulted by beach balls last night despite literally giving a bunch of tickets away for free. In all seriousness though. Are Sens fans concerned that the team is eventually going to move? The attendance has always been a concern. Even when they were a very good team they couldn't sell out...even playoff games. There's a chance that the only reason the Sens are still in Ottawa is because Melnyk is so stubborn, and won't move/sell the team.

They averaged over 99% of capacity every year from 2005-06 to 2012-13. I can’t find numbers before that, but I suspect attendance was fine then too. And that’s with an arena in the middle of nowhere. This city will support a well-run team, especially with a downtown arena.

The narrative I keep hearing is that they can't fill the arena, even in the playoffs. A well run team would mean locking Melnyk up and throwing away the key. Let the people in charge of running the team build the team.

Let the people in charge of running the team build the team. There’s no hope as long Melnyk is involved. They need new ownership and a new arena. So to answer your previous question, I’m concerned about the team’s future for as long as Melnyk has the team.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Hamonic out with a facial fracture he got fighting Gudbranson the other day. Hockey is so f***ing stupid.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Hamonic out with a facial fracture he got fighting Gudbranson the other day. Hockey is so f***ing stupid. Sounds cool to me A lot better than some baseball injuries like such as "fat pitcher out for season with grade 4 hamstring tear suffered while running the bases in a blowout in the rain" or "amazing generational pitcher out for 2 years with sudden career-killing arm injury because all of our pitching athletes are literally timebombs and nobody was meant biologically to do this like this"

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Not necessarily, it was logged. Different game Jim, there's no longer Semenkos with Gretzky. You edited the response. I know it's different. My point remains, the game's stars have less protection today than they did in past years, hence more chance of injury. Last year Matthews missed a big chunk of games and played hurt much of the season due to some very questionable hits early in the season.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 Sheeeeeit... Bratt broke his jaw by a deflected puck off the crossbar, how unlucky is that!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Ottawa is beating up on some crap hockey team right now
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Damn that did not last long lol
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Wow Ottawa is winning again!
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Giving up four goals to a non-Karlsson Sens team is extremely embarrassing.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Lol @ the Leafs losing to Ottawa.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Who put 20 bucks on Ottawa? <----- This guy.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I believe Ottawa has a better record than the Leaves now. Time to get on the bandwagon fellas.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 LoL @ the Leafs. Good. f*** 'em. I didn't see the game but I hear Freddie was hot s***. If you're gonna huff dong in net, it doesn't matter who you have playing in front of you. His Octobers are always ass. Figure it out, Freddie.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 I said it before and I will say it again. Unless the leafs plan on beating teams 6-5 every night the money on taveras who is a good player would of made more sense looking at improving their D which is a very big achillies for them

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 There weren't any FA defensemen worth throwing money at. Leafs can't afford to do the FA route anymore. This is supposed to be Dubas' forte. I do believe Leafs will be fine this year, but it sure is nice to see their fans shut up for a night. Edit: I see now it was suggested a dman instead of Tavares. That does seem unwise, controlling the puck more often and the goalie is your defense.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Elias Pettersson has scored twice so far tonight.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 John Gibson is the best goalie in the world.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Elias Pettersson has scored twice so far tonight. And an assist!
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 John Gibson is the best goalie in the world. When did that happen?
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) When did that happen? He's been elite for 2+ years now Edit - Currently has the highest career SV% of any goalie of all time (among goalies with 100+ career games) Edited October 7, 2018 by Pendleton
