Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 And yeah, like everyone else here I'm f***ing pissed. We've legit seen 4 HoF homegrown players (except Chara if you want to get technical) driven away by Melnyk in the last 13 years (Hossa, Chara, Alfredsson, Karlsson). And that excludes Spezza who was also driven away. It's one gut punch after another. And the rebuild is ********. They've added a bunch of low-ceiling young guys and don't even have their f***ing first round pick this year. And Melnyk has admitted that they're running a bare bones scouting staff and front office staff. This isn't going to get better. We're at the point where things are so toxic that the team's future in Ottawa is uncertain as long as Eugene Melnyk owns the team. You forgot the f***in all star Dany Heatley

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 The damage to Henrik Zetterberg's back is irreparable. His career is over. Not the way this great wanted his career to end I'm sure.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Rudolfs Balcers OT winner from the World Championships Dude is slick I remember that, he's got skillz, they still should've gotten Timo Meier added to that trade.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 I remember that, he's got skillz, they still should've gotten Timo Meier added to that trade. Yeah I think under normal circumstances San Jose wouldn't even get a conversation started on Karlsson without including Meier, likely just wouldn't be able to compete in those talks at all. Unfortunately the Sens removed themselves of virtually any leverage. I'm fairly certain Vegas would have topped this return back at the deadline if the Sens weren't insisting on them taking Ryan at the time.
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Even the little article on the Senators website announcing the trade is a disaster. "Ottawa Senators complete most important trade in rebuild" ... lol "Senators acquire six assets in Erik Karlsson trade" ... because the quantity is what matters? "This decision sets the team up for a promising future, building toward the creation of a younger, faster and stronger roster overall - characterized by a commitment to leadership, character and chemistry." ... Did Melnyk write this himself? "in exchange for Erik Karlsson and an AHL player" ... kind of insulting if you are the "an AHL player" "this deal leverages earlier decisions in the rebuild to deliver the largest pipeline of potential Ottawa has had in its system in the past 15 years. ... hahahah leverages earlier decisions "While looking to the future with excitement and optimism, the franchise does wish to thank Erik Karlsson for his nine years of service." ... oh do you? you wish to thank him for his years of service? lmao

Damn, he's had the same surgeries and condition I have, there's no way he could ever play again, same goes for David Wright and Fielder, sucks man.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 It's as if nobody in the front office has any grasp of the calibre of player they've just traded away. Karlsson is irreplaceable.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 21 seconds in.... Leafs suxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2018 Posted September 18, 2018 Tavares scores! Looks weird in a Leaf jersey.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 The Leafs winning the Cup this season would be the best. It would make me happy cause they're my team. It would also be cool to see half the people here spontaneously combust.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 JT give us the Cup!!! trolololol Woooo... Marner!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Generally speaking, what hockey team do Toronto fans hate the most?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Generally speaking, what hockey team do Toronto fans hate the most? Probably the Habs.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Probably the Habs. f*** that. That might be worse than being a Toronto fan. I need a team to cheer for since i'm a fantasy hockey sharp now.

I need a team to cheer for since i'm a fantasy hockey sharp now. Should just remain neutral until the Seattle expansion and then cheer for them. One of the proposed names is the Seattle Kraken and I think that would be awesome

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 The 2018/19 Ottawa Senators.................................. We're a team.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Pierre Dorion is an embarrassment to this city

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Ottawa over 72.5 points is +130. I'll probably lay a few bucks down on that before the season starts. With the way this is going I can feel a fluky season.
