BTS Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Meier should’ve been one of the pieces going back to the Sens for sure. Or at least Merkley.
GoldBull Verified Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 You can make the argument that the habs got a better return on Patches. At least they got a guy with realistic top line / top pair upside.
JG34 Verified Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Not only does Ottawa lose EK, but it’s pretty much guaranteed they are gifting Colorado a top 5 pick.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Karlsson quotes from today's presser: "In my wildest imagination I never thought I'd leave." "I was prepared to come here and work hard, unfortunately that can't happen." "Today comes as a shock. I could have never prepared for this." "I still have to wrap my mind around what's going on" "Management made it clear what direction they were going in. I wasn't a part of that." "I was not part of that plan. That's sad for me, and it's why we're standing here." "Maybe it could have been different, but here we stand. It's their decision, they made it." "Why we're standing here today, I can't really tell you." "I'm a player, I do what I can to prepare to be the best player. Everything above that is above my jurisdiction." This isn't a player who wanted to leave.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Bah Gawd... that's a brutal return, the Patches return was much better, lol @ the Sens!!!
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Okay. I do not like this trade for the Sens at all
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 That's it, I've had it. Driving to the CTC with my pitch fork. I'd laugh, but the Canucks are pretty much the same steaming pile right now. Looks like Pageau is out 4 to 6 months too. Hard to be a fan of either team right now. Go Raps!
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 Reporter: “What can you tell us about Josh Norris?” Pierre Dorion: “Well, he's Brady Tkachuk's best friend... let's start with that!" I just can’t.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 I love this deal for Ottawa... Because it's a s*** return.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 More great stuff out of Ottawa... J-G Pageau blew out his Achilles during fitness testing and is out 4-6 months.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Guys, imagine this clown running a team you root for:
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Christ, he's smirking the entire time. Boy thinks he done good. He's genuinely f***ing clueless.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Also, something really rubs me the wrong way about how open and blunt Dorion and Melnyk have been about the fact that they're rebuilding. They're not even trying to hide it or even remotely remain competitive. The problem I have is that they're not even rebuilding properly (or doing it well, at least). As a fan, BTS, you must be absolutely livid.
BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Christ, he's smirking the entire time. Boy thinks he done good. He's genuinely f***ing clueless. My favourite part: "We've been planning this since February" "So when you offered him a contract in the offseason you didn't intend to sign him?" "..."

As a fan, BTS, you must be absolutely livid. And yeah, like everyone else here I'm f***ing pissed. We've legit seen 4 HoF homegrown players (except Chara if you want to get technical) driven away by Melnyk in the last 13 years (Hossa, Chara, Alfredsson, Karlsson). And that excludes Spezza who was also driven away. It's one gut punch after another. And the rebuild is ********. They've added a bunch of low-ceiling young guys and don't even have their f***ing first round pick this year. And Melnyk has admitted that they're running a bare bones scouting staff and front office staff. This isn't going to get better. We're at the point where things are so toxic that the team's future in Ottawa is uncertain as long as Eugene Melnyk owns the team.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Christ, Karlsson and Burns is a legendary pair. I know they probably won’t pair them together, but if they did it would be an all-timer.

I know they probably won’t pair them together, but if they did it would be an all-timer. If you asked me to come up with the perfect left handed partner to play the stay at home role on the top pair with either of those two offensive RHD, Vlasic would have to be right near the top of the list. To have all three of them in their prime is such a luxury.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 He means Ottawa. We both know there are more Leafs fans in Ottawa than Sens fans.

BTS Community Moderator Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 We both know there are more Leafs fans in Ottawa than Sens fans. The Leafs fans I know aren't enjoying this either. The Battle of Ontario is at it's best when both teams are good. And the Leafs fans who live in Ottawa would prefer that Ottawa keeps an NHL team.

Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
