  1. There are definitely some people overreacting in the threads. I agree with everything you said. I'm also concerned that Vlad/Springer/Kirk/Varsho don't bounce back. But, this is the team we have, and last year was a half decent offense even with the underperformances (but definitely frustrating to watch). It's still way too early to conclude that at least some of these guys won't bounce back over the course of a long ass season.
  2. This epic meltdown could have been avoided if Dean just listened to me and went to Swiss Chalet.
  3. All great choices. Taking a lady there as a first date is a great way to test the waters. After Swiss Chalet, take them home to watch Conan the Barbarian and you'll have a good idea if they're a keeper or not.
  4. It would be a godsend for the team's payroll if Schneider and Clement can even be slightly above average regulars. I'm not as cynical as some of the others here, I think these guys will get a decent shake this year to prove themselves. Just wish we didn't have IKF soaking up at bats as I suspect he'll still get at least 400. I would have preferred to not sign IKF and just keep Espinal as he'd be way less likely to block these young bucks.
  5. Go big or go home - half chicken dinner with the popcorn shrimp appetizer. Just remember not to drink the little dish of warm lemon water they bring you after the meal.
  6. I'm not even a fan of Vlad, I'm just worried about your mental health with some of these posts. Swiss Chalet will help, guaranteed.
  7. Whoa! Bro, you need a nice enjoyable meal at Swiss Chalet to rebalance yourself.
  8. Yeah, I don't think Chapman wanted to be here. My preference would have been to make a run for Teo and put Varsho in CF where he belongs. But there were a lot of moving pieces and we always have the benefit of hindsight at the end of free agency.
  9. So you only like small sample sizes when it fits a negative narrative? Come on man. For the record I hated the IKF signing too, but it’s done and it’s going to play out the way it plays out. Maybe we’re proven wrong (that’d be great). Let’s go Jays!
  10. Gaus splitter about to split this series. Let's goooooo
  11. Yup. Just give him an opportunity and a bit of rope. What's the downside? Seeing less of IKF?
  12. lol, is this some kind of crazy game 3 meltdown in here?
  13. Yeah, I thought the same. His command isn't there and his fastball is very hittable. Bad combo. Maybe he might suddenly put it all together, but I'm not holding my breath.
  14. It’s one game and it’s a long grind ahead.
  15. Some of these guys were ready to roll over and write off Berrios and the entire series. It was a couple runs shy of crying for their mommy.
  16. Yup, those are the top two arms. Even one of them returning changes the complexion on close games.
  17. There are pros and cons to Alberta.... a long ass winter is definitely the downside.
  18. Holy s***, Ernie Clement is pretty damn fast - that's close to elite speed. I knew he had wheels, but I'm still surprised.
  19. No doubt. Can't say I'm surprised.
  20. Tread carefully. He may demand to be comped with a Swiss Chalet gift card.
  21. I wish I answered earlier, because everyone stole my thunder with Varsho predictions. - Varsho hits 30 dingers and is worth 4 WAR - Vladdy hits .300 with 40 dingers and doesn't put on weight during the season - Gausman finally wins the Cy Young - Ricky T gets a short shake in the rotation and claims a spot for next year with his performance - Schneider puts up a .800 ops and secures second base - Vogelbach.... aw f*** it, nevermind.
  22. When you throw race into everything it's really tiring man. What is more likely to play a factor in all this is the size of his stardom, not his ethnicity.
