  1. Those guys were all pretty good last year. But ya it's not a big deal by itself. I guess if you add IKF, Turner, Yariel, Green and KK (when you have Varsho) its like 50 million so we'll see how that goes. When the dust settles it'll be a big meh could have done better, maybe worse. Just feels like alot of that these days
  2. There were like 2 3bs who signed for more than 1/2m. If there were no suitors for Chapman then I don't know how there would be suitors willing to start IKF at 3b. Even if you expand it to infielders who are generously projected for 1 war, they all signed for like 1/5. Anderson, Kike, Urshela 1mill, Rosario 1mil. Percentage wise it's probably an astronomical overpay. Total dollars wise whatever I guess. But its still a problem that we're one of the teams that pays $/war for 1 war players when the smart teams don't. So that kinda means Atkins is dumber than the smart teams.
  3. Both parties misread it. 2/15 for IKF is a big misread regardless of the Chapman situation
  4. Yes but then he signed with SF, not the Reds or Rockies
  5. Atkins is paying real dollars for 1 war players when no good teams do that anymore. They pay 500k for 1 war and 20m for 3. They don't pay 20m for three 1 war players. He should have seen it coming.
  6. How the f*** did he just sign for 3/54
  7. Finally
  8. He's so far away from being a real SP
  9. 15% splitters to the back stop
  10. A splitter is a whiff out of zone pitch, not an earned strike pitch. It will probably add nothing for him. He needs to find strikes in the zone.
  11. Trout was pacing about 6 war last year and had 6 the year before. He broke his hand because he still swings 1000 mph. I'd take Trout way before someone like Bellinger.
  12. This is sad. Just assign Bauer to the A's
  13. Breslow seems competent after traping KC like that
  14. Damn Cole Phillips is getting another TJ. Trader Jerry got wrecked by AA
  15. I'd give Chapman that deal in 0.1 seconds.
  16. I'm still in on Chapman if we got money left.
  17. Back fill AAA for when Parsons shoves for 60 innings
  18. Ya they basically told us how they see it. White got DFAd, they gave up on him. He finished strong in AAA so he gets a 2nd life. If he's old White then he's gone. The issue will be who do you use the spot on. If it's super early I really doubt they throw Yariel or Ricky in there so to me it'll be Parsons or a Richards opener
  19. I don't think they see him as a SP. Even in 2022 they dropped him down to 2 innings per appearance. And last year they got him up to 4 innings a couple times but mostly stuck with 1 or 2 innings. He's 28 years old..
  20. We also have no optionable RP (that we would actually option) except Cabrera who is gonna get 5 years soon and reject demotions. So White will probably get DFAd eventually. Going off last years usage, the 6 was Ryu, the 7 was Richards and the 8 was Parsons
  21. Any injury will make Parsons the only one who has any length in him probably. If Mitch White makes the team he'll be long relief and probably unused. Otherwise he'll be DFAd. That would mean Yariel's in AAA stretching out if they indeed view him as SP.
  22. Because he'll probably be starting games in May
