  1. Nice. Just 1 run allowed after bases loaded no outs. I'll take that.
  2. Hold that line Hatch. Give your top offence a chance.
  3. He is still getting valuable live game experience, which is vital for development. I'm not sure what it was like at the camp last year, but this season is really his first pro development since being drafted. A two year gap from college and pro ball games I have to imagine, would have been detrimental for his development. You are right, it has only been Law that's reported the injury and adjustment to his swing (anyone know if there are others reporting?) that I've read, but I would imagine the FO would not have him play if there was high risk of exacerbating the injury.
  4. I get the Jays are struggling a bit, but f*** these game threads are getting depressing lately. I guess it is easier to trash your own team then to appreciate the positives. f*** it. I'll keep choosing to enjoy the good. Let's sweep these mofos!
  5. Yeah, Martin is a stud in the making. He's still no.1 Jays' prospect for me.
  6. I could be wrong, but they might not have updated the grades, or some of the writeups. Some of them look familiar from the start of the season.
  7. I'd like nothing more than for you to be right. But I remain skeptical.
  8. lol. One bad decision outweighs all the (more important) positives like drafting, player development, and building a strong talent pipeline. I think people will be disappointed. Atkins has only ever praised Montoya from what I've read. There doesn't seem to be any indication his job is on the line. I personally don't know what they see in Montoya, and I'd love for him to be replaced as well. But if keeping Montoya is the worst thing this FO does, I can live with it.
  9. The 94-95 strike still has me jaded to this day. Robbed the Expos of the postseason, and potentially franchise saving run. I am betting they will get some kind of agreement, but it would not shock me in the least if there is another work stoppage. Both sides have shown they are willing to lose tons of money and fans to get what they feel is the best deal for them.
  10. This is a good point. I'm optimistic there will be no work stoppage, but MLB and MLBPA have burnt the fans in the past.
  11. Another leadoff double. Better score this one.
  12. I actually don't mind it. 1st inning, get to 3rd with 1 out. More chances to score. It was a great throw.
  13. Pearson's issues are more serious, and he's also not as young. I'm starting to worry about his long term value. With Groshans, I still have confidence he can reach his ceiling.
  14. I'm likely in the minority, but I'm fine not making a push for the playoffs this year. I just think the gap is pretty big between Jays and some of the top teams, that the cost to close it would be too high in prospect capital for my liking. Obviously anything can happen once you get into the playoffs, but I see next year as the more realistic time frame to press the gas pedal towards the playoffs. With a historically strong FA class, and potential off season trades, Jays can fill the gaps needed to elevate them to true contender status. I still want to see them win as many games as possible and hopefully remain in the race for that 2nd WC to the end.
  15. If Groshans can get over his durability issues, he's right up there with Moreno and Orelvis for me. He's performed at every level, and injuries I think, is really what has kept him from having breakout year like the two more touted prospects.
  16. The report on Moreno's defence being plus across the board from Law's top 50, is that the general consensus, or is Law just higher on Moreno? I have soft spot for the catcher position. Would be a dream to have a young athletic star catcher added to this core. No offence to Kirk.
  17. Jays have team's ace on mound against division leader. Not a must win, but, we better win.
  18. That's right. I forgot someone had mentioned that in the draft day thread. The rule (which I didn't know) is that you can't draft a player twice without first getting their permission. Would be shocking based on that, if he didn't sign.
