  1. Exactly this. I also find this part from the article dubious: "What Shapiro and Atkins didn’t want — and were adamant about it — were high-school players. They especially didn’t want high-school position players." The insinuation here is that this regime has an extreme bias towards high-school players, which I don't see. They've generally picked the bpa based on their internal evaluation and rankings.
  2. Saw this random tweet: Jansen for Bellinger. lol.
  3. NH hitters with 9 walks in 6 innings so far. Love to see that approach in the minors. Martin continues to draw walks. If he can find a bit of power in his swing, I think he'll really take off. Groshans has been perfect at the plate so far. 3 for 3, 1bb. He's been heating up. He just needs to stay healthy. When he has, he's performed at high levels.
  4. Just noticed, Springer's ops over .800 now. Some good take away from tonight. Hope he keeps it going.
  5. Jays run differential taking a sizable hit tonight.
  6. Need a big second half from Springer. Do it baby.
  7. In addition, everything I've read, suggests he's a big character guy. One of the leaders in the clubhouse. Dude just seems like a good grounded team mate.
  8. Whether you are a troll or not, the part about a good long man is true. No one in the pen currently fills that role.
  9. f*** yeah Biggio. Cavan is the one guy I think I root for most. Simply because everyone seems to be against him succeeding.
  10. 1. Glad to see Springer still heating up. 2. No need for Vlad to take that chance down 12 runs. That was too close.
  11. Barring a historic comeback, this battle is lost. Have to at least get into their bullpen and make it a little more difficult for them rest of the series.
  12. At least we seem to always beat up on the Orioles. Although that might not be say much.
  13. Hitting is hard. You won't get an argument from me.
  14. Damn. Vlad and George tried too hard to get it all back. Forgot it was still the 1st inning.
  15. Cue the comeback! Don't make it easy on the Sox!
  16. The one small positive is that it's the 1st and Jays haven't come up to bat yet. So in theory, we have time. But need to chip away.
  17. I don't disagree. I would like to see more power displayed in the second half from Martin. Veen was a guy that had a very high ceiling, and the Rockies making a him a top 10 pick was not overslot in my opinion. He had a ton of helium heading into the draft if I recall. Having said that, Martin was a consensus no. 2, with some industry experts having him no. 1 on their board. No one expected him to fall to the Jays. It was the right pick on draft day to make.
  18. Completely agree. Jays would have been crucified, and justifiably so, had they passed on Martin and taken Veen.
