    Gotta love all these close losses with our "best" hitters at the top of line up rocking sub .700 OPS's Wake up you effing losers.

    I mean the dream scenarios for me include.. 1. Somehow Vlad figures it out and goes on a tear, and Bo goes all 2022 on us. Leave the FO with some tough decisions to make next off season. 2. They scrape by and then next off season find a suitor that thinks they can fix Vlad and then trade him and Bo for some prospect capital. Sign Adames to a decent deal and also Soto to a mega deal. Graduate a bunch of the AAA guys an have 2 of 3 of them POP and then carry on with a strong pitching staff and an offense built around Soto, an actual MVP caliber bat.

    lol @ you guys bickering over the made up contract details, the point is thank the maker we don't have a fat 1 WAR first baseman locked up to a mega contract because he broke into the league with a 6 WAR season.

    Of course we all want that but you have to realize that it's highly unlikely. Every year 100 win teams get their SPI in the playoffs and every once in a while 80 something or 90 win teams win it all. All the FO can do is build a team that makes the playoffs regularly to increase the odds that s*** falls their way at least one year. Look at the Dodgers, 100 win season after 100 win season and only one world series to show for it in the last 10-15 years of ruling baseball regular seasons. Or I guess you don't have to realize it's highly unlikely and instead let it ruin your life and then come to message board to piss and moan about it non stop. Whatever floats boats I guess.

    Same as the previous off season where the complainers whined about the bullpen all off season and that stupid Atkins wasn't doing anything to improve it and then the bullpen ended up being a strength. Won't stop the complainers from complaining next off season though.

    I can't f***ing believe how bad Kirk is at hitting now. This guy was a hitting machine all the way up the MiLB ladder and into the majors. How in the f*** do you fall off a cliff like that in your early/mid twenties?

    So far in AAA this year Barger has 87 innings at 3B and 40 innings in RF. Three games as a DH.

    I haven't heard a peep about him since he stepped on that bat weeks ago. He hasn't played yet anywhere that I can see so I'm going to say yes he is still hurt.

    Except it's not a .500 team. They are on pace 88 wins and it should be 94 wins if the core player this FO was "gifted" from AA could catch a routine throw or hit a baseball more than 15 feet before it touches grass.

    Sometimes I can't tell if you're being serious or not, but I'd be all for "selling high" on Biggio right now with the dudes we have chomping at the bit in Buffalo. Barger or Orelvis replacing Biggio would make me very happy

    Well, I'm talking about non-tendering him if he puts up another 1 fWAR season this year. Horwitz could probably give the Jays 1 fWAR for 1/25th the cost, so it's something that would need to be considered. If he puts up 3.4 fWAR that's a different story.

    Vladdy is in his prime now and has dwindled down to being a 1 fWAR first baseman with a $20 million price tag. If he has another 1 fWAR season this year the Jays are seriously going to have to consider DFA'ing him instead of arbitration. That's how bad it's gotten.

    Varsho has the same fWAR as Moreno and Gurriel combined for half the money. What a f***ing steal by Atkins in that trade
