  1. Probably end up putting Liriano or Mayza on the 40 man. They need another lefty reliever on the 40 man, unless they aren't going to stretch Kay out? Speaking of lefty relievers, is Kirby Snead any good?
  2. He's the youngest in the group and in my opinion brings the best offense/defense combo. He'd also bring his championship experience with him too. Don't get me wrong though, I'd be pretty excited if any of them signed with the Jays.
  3. Yeah, Bo better be a damn good short stop long term to miss out on an opportunity to nab one of those guys. I would have never even considered Correa but then the Jays miraculously lured Springer in. He'd be my first pick, move Bo to second and then have Martin and Groshans battle it out for 3rd. Not sure if Bo would be happy moving to 2nd. He should be though, in order to add a player like that and increase the teams chances at winning it all.
  4. How good of buddies are Springer and Correa? Just wondering.
  5. I really wonder how many of our top prospects make their MLB debuts this season. So to hard gauge them with the missed MILB season, but these guys haven't exactly been sitting around twiddling their thumbs either. Getting lots of work in at the Dunedin facilities against stiff competition and training their asses off too by the sounds of it. Specifically guys like Martin, Groshans, SWR and Manoah. It'll be interesting if guys like that make a push. There isn't too many turds left on the 40 man that you can't wait to see get punted.
  6. Who has a better season, Matz or Walker?
  7. Anybody have any insight on Zululeta? Apparently the guy packs some heat (95-99 mph) and some decent secondaries too. Where does he project to start the season? Fangraphs says AA.
  8. Too bad about Rosenthal but I guess it was a pipe dream to hope the Jays would throw that kind of money at another right handed reliever when they already have Yates, Dolis, Romano, Phelps and a bunch of other potential right handed options as well.
  9. I think people are too concerned with the pitching. I know they're just projections, but fangraphs has the Jays ranked pretty favorably in projected pitching WAR. The starters are ranked 4th in the AL behind the Yankees, White Sox and Twins if I remember correctly. Of course that's based on Ray bouncing back to his career norms and Pearson breaking out a little. Other than Bauer there wasn't a lot out there in free agency this year that really moved the needle much from what the Jays already have.
  10. Hopefully by the time the deadline has passed this season, one of Marquez or Castillo are Jays. Or f*** it anyways, both. lol
  11. Merry Spring Training Eve everyone
  12. Brewers going to trade for Drury from the Mets next? Lol
  13. If they can find another legit high end starter (at the right price) then I'm all for it. Going to have to be via trade now though in my opinion, because any of the free agents that are left will just get tossed onto the pile of hopefuls the Jays already have.
  14. Most here know this I'm sure, but a reminder: Robbie Ray from 2017-2019 33-15 W/L 3.72 ERA 618 K's in 460 IP 12.1 K/9 4.4 BB/9 1.4 HR/9 Then whatever the f*** he tried to do to his delivery in 2020. Hopefully they get him back to what he was before, then we can flush 2020 down the toilet and voila the Jays have a legit #2. Guy is only 28, I'm sure they can get him back to form. I know it's hard to picture though, because he was so s***** last year. But supposedly there is a legit, identifiable and fixable reason for the shittyness. Fingers crossed. Also, Pearson has the stuff to be an ace. We all know that. The Jays top 3 SP's have a chance to be amazing. If that happens all they need is a couple more guys to just be average (Matz, Roark, Stripling, etc)
  15. Yeah you're right, he was pretty good.
  16. Haha. The last time the Jays traded for Price they had a juggernaut offense and should have won the world series. They would have too if it wasn't for the lucky ass royals and some godamn disgusting umpiring at crucial moments in the ALCS. And to go along with that juggernaut offense, the Jays had the used up carcasses of RA Dickey and Mark Buehrle along with Hutchison and Estrada pitching the bulk of the innings until they traded for Price and Stroman came back from injury. Unless a couple of aces fall from the sky and land in Atkins lap that's kind of what this team is going to have to do too. Hope 1 guy steps up, hope 1 guy rebounds and then try to trade for a top of the rotation starter if they're in contention.
  17. Yes it certainly would be outmatched, but IMO signing Walker or Odirizzi isn't going to change that.
  18. Jays have a crap ton of SPs at the MLB, AAA and even AA levels, looking to either rebound or establish themselves. All it takes is 2 or 3 to be successful and 1 or 2 to be average and suddenly the rotation is much better than expected. Then the Jays FO can always look to bolster that mid season with a trade if the team is in playoff contention. Ray Matz Roark Stripling Chatwood Pearson Merryweather Hatch Kay Thornton Murphy Murray Zeuch Waguespack Castro Luciano Manoah Alggeyer Castillo SWR All it takes is 2 or 3 with Ryu...
  19. Maybe the Jays can trade for good starter. Does taking Moustakas and his contract from the Reds reduce the acquisition cost of Gray or Castillo from the Reds? Gurriel and a top 5-10 prospect for Castillo and Moustakas? Too much or too little? Move Biggio to the OF, Moustakas plays 3rd and gives you another left handed bat in the line up.
  20. Do we still think they're after Rosenthal? I thought that ship sailed when they signed Phelps, but I hope I'm wrong. He racks up the Ks and had a s*** load of career saves pitching for a perennial playoff team and has a pile of playoff experience too.
  21. Nice K rate in a small sample size last season. Jumped up to 13.5 K/9 And we still got Hatch too haha
  22. Would have been better if it was to make room on the 40 man for Paxton instead of Payamps, but still a good thing.
  23. Can't wait to follow that projected AA rotation. SWR, Luciano, Manoah and Castillo.
  24. Just chomping at the bit to see the Jays sign Paxton and then get this show on the road. 1. CF - Springer 2. SS - Bichette 3. 2B - Semien 4. DH - Hernandez 5. LF - Gurriel 6. 1B - Guerrero 7. 3B - Biggio 8. RF - Grichuk 9. C - Jansen B - Tellez (In there for Grichuk vs RHP, Teo to RF) B - Espinal/Urena B - Fisher/Davis B - Kirk/Mcguire SP - L - Ryu SP - L - Paxton SP - R - Pearson SP - L - Ray SP - L - Matz RP - R - Roark RP - R - Stripling RP - R - Chatwood RP - R - Merryweather RP - L - Borucki RP - R - Romano RP - R - Yates RP - R - Dolis Use Roark as the 6th starter unless there is an off day, then have him be a long man out of the pen on what would have been his regular start day. Lefty heavy rotation, and a righty heavy bullpen. Probably not ideal I guess, but f*** it. Bonus points for squishing out Roark like the turd he is and replacing him with Rosenthal and then signing Marwin Gonzales to replace one of the bench players.
