    I wonder what Quintana would cost to acquire? I highly doubt he finishes the season with the Pirates.

    Yea I agree. I have no problem rolling with Manoah/Gausman/Berrios/Stripling/Kikuchi if no more starter injuries occur. No need to spend HQ assets to add another high end starter IMO, but maybe pay a much lower price to add a depth starter if the belief is Pearson/Hatch/Kay/Lawrence/Castillo aren't enough to cover that part of it.

    After last nights game: 1. Springer / 144 wRC+ 2. Bichette / 115 wRC+ 3. Vladdy / 131 wRC+ 4. Kirk / 145 wRC+ 5. Teo / 97 wRC+ (185 wRC+ in June) 6. Espinal / 121 wRC+ 7. Gurriel / 108 wRC+ (199 wRC+ in June) 8. Chapman / 93 wRC+ 9. Biggio / 108 wRC+ (174 wRC+ since returning) Also Jansen with a 150 wRC+ Team is f***ing stacked just like we thought/hoped. Even that turd Tapia has a 146 wRC+ in June Zimmer though...lol *one of these things is not like the others*

    Part of me thinks that if Ryu is out not only this season, but also next, that the Jays will try to replace him via trade. But then the other side of me thinks they might believe his spot could be filled much more cheaply with an internal option. Castillo is right there at AAA, Pearson might actually figure it out and stay healthy, Zulueta and/or Tiedemann could easily continue to move up fast with their elite/advanced stuff. I can't wait to see how they play this.

    With Bednar being only 27, putting up high end to elite numbers for multiple years now and also having 4 more years of control AFTER this season, it sure would be tempting. I can't see this FO doing that though, and with the volatility of relievers I can't blame them.

    I do see how Groshans might be seen as expendable though. He's in AAA but blocked by Chapman this year and next, and coming right behind him in AA is Orelvis who is more highly touted. Both projected to be 3B at the MLB level.

    Yeah I suppose. I mean they don't really need one right now, not with the way Strip is pitching. But another starter goes down and I don't see any good long term replacement in Buffalo right now. Lawrence, Kay, Hatch and Francis on the 40 man, I'd rather see Castillo if that scenario pops up but he's pretty young, just got to AAA and isn't on the 40 man. Of course, If Ryu is toast for the rest of his contract (TJS) then I hope the Jays go big game hunting for another high end starter with some control left. Someone like Mahle or Castillo.

    This is true, but I'm not sure what we'd be trading for right now. Don't see too many weak spots in the roster right now except for high leverage bullpen guys, and I don't think you're trading top prospects for bullpen arms.

    After this game Teo and Biggio might get above a 100 wRC+ That would give the Jays 10 regulars above that mark with Chapman the only main guy under and he's at 93 wRC+ Team is raking now

    Looks like Bowden Francis isn't starting anymore. His last 4-5 appearances have been in a relief role.

    Yeah, if only Gausman and his 2.67 ERA / 3.0 fWAR would just pitch better lulz Him being 5-5 is a f***ing travesty His team mates don't help him enough.

    Seeing as they just signed Kikuchi to a 3 year deal with starter money, I bet he'll get a lot of rope to find consistency. Hopefully he doesn't hang himself with it. He had a 2.36 ERA / 2.65 FIP in May (5 starts) and that includes 2 starts vs the Yankees.
