  1. I don't see it happening. Jays don't really need to upgrade the starting pitching, and I don't see them making a trade that would push Gurriel or Teo onto the bench. I certainly wouldn't mind an upgrade on Tapia/Zimmer but that probably isn't going to cost a whole lot of prospect capital to pull off. A move to upgrade the bullpen is always a nice idea, but really it's a total crap shoot. Could blow up in your face just easily s help you out. If they have to, I think the Jays will look at some internal bullpen arms first before trading for any. Hernandez looks like he's ready for a shot, Beasley has really improved his walk rate this season, while still missing bats. Eisert might be an option soon. Johnston looks like some sort of weird FIP beater, but he does that every season so maybe he's worth a look soon. Spraker seems to be struggling with his control this season, but there is time for him to turn it around still and get a look. Then you have SP's like Zulueta and Tiedemann who are very advanced, and probably on innings limits this season so could very well be moved to the BP later on and move up the ladder to MLB quickly.
  2. Adrian Hernandez with two more clean innings today to pick up his 5th save at AAA. 0 hits, 0 walks, 0 runs, 3 K's Only 20 pitches with 16 strikes Guys a f***ing stud
  3. How concerning are Groshans low power numbers? I mean the guy continually puts up a high wRC+ no matter what level he's at. 152 wRC+ right now at AAA as a 22 year old. 16.9% BB rate vs 11.2% K rate and a 0.461 on base % He's out performing Moreno in pretty much every aspect this season, and Moreno's power out put is very low too. I did not see that coming, I thought Moreno was going to tear AAA apart at the seams.
  4. Was poking around the Bisons pitching stats, and I'm wondering when does Jeremy Beasley get another kick at the can with the Jays? He seems to have gotten a handle on his control issues with a 2.7 BB/9 and is still sporting a 10.46 K/9 with a 1.01 ERA / 3.02 FIP in 26.2 innings.
  5. I am really starting to hate Montoyo Tapia, Zimmer, no Vlad, no Jansen? f***ing stupid ****. Surprised he isn't starting Romano on the bump.
  6. I'd count on Pearson about as much as I'd count on Merryweather at this point. He's well into prove the naysayers wrong territory now. Of course he could come up and make a difference in a positive way, his stuff is elite. But between the injuries/illness, command problems and confidence issues he is very far from a sure thing. It'll be interesting to see if any other guys sneak into the bullpen later this season though. Have to think Adrian Hernandez isn't far away from getting a 40 man spot and a call up.
  7. Starting rotation is nails right now. Even Berrios, who has been the weakest link, is creeping his ERA down. Kikuchi in May is 2.26 ERA / 2.66 FIP Ryu since coming back is 1.72 ERA / 3.47 FIP And we all know what Manoah and Gausman are doing.
  8. Why. In the f***ing f***. Is our. Best hitter (currently). NOT PLAYING!? Montoyo you f***ing retard I'd like take to Tapia and shove him up Montoyo's ass sideways.
  9. His pitches by game so far: Low A 59 65 73 High A 77 64 Does seem weird he was pulled mid inning (3.2 IP), but hopefully nothing.
  10. Man, if the bats are starting to come around then this team could be poised to go on a serious run here. The starting pitching has been fantastic, if they start getting run support the W's will start piling up.
  11. Juniorf***head banned? For good this time I hope. What a useless complainer. Good riddance.
  12. Not to mention that during crunch time last season in his last 7 starts while the Jays were trying to chase down a playoff spot he pitched like an ace with a 2.93 ERA / 2.87 FIP
  13. Since May 27th last season Danny Jansen has a .319 / .394 / .770 / 1.164 slash line and a 211 wRC+ 128 PA's
  14. Hernandez pitched a 2nd inning and got the save, but gave up his first run in AAA before he closed it out.
  15. Another clean inning for Adrian Hernandez 13 pitches, 10 strikes 1 strike out 1 weak groundball 1 pop up to the catcher Moreno is 3 for 5 in the game, 3 singles Groshans 3 for 4 with a BB Taylor 3 for 4 with triple
  16. Yeah I'd say you're right. I don't see any significant trades happening for position players either. Especially a DH/1B like Josh Bell. Doesn't work for how the Jays use the DH as a revolving door. I sure wish they'd upgrade the OF though, although they'll probably let Hernandez and Gurriel work through their hitting issues, which given their past performance makes total sense. Hopefully patience pays off and they go on a tear.
  17. Anyone know how long Fitz Stadler is out for? I see he's on the 60 day IL Was hoping to see how he progressed at AAA this year, maybe he'd be able to bring that BB/9 down some. 6'9" towering pitchers who (reportedly) throw 100+ don't grow on trees
  18. I remember Jansen's ability to hit suffered while he was figuring out how to be a big league catcher, hopefully the same is happening with Kirk. Either way, those two bats should be in the line up pretty much every single day
  19. Good lord Teo is sandwiched in between Tapia and Zimmer for wRC+ on the Jays. Holy s*** man get it going already lol 33 wRC+ Who saw that coming?
  20. 8 runs! Nice! 3 homers including Vlad with a bomb! Hopefully the offense is coming to life
  21. Well then we agree. The thing is, if you get rid of Tapia it doesn't fix the Jays right now. If those other hitters start hitting the way they have in the past, that does fix the Jays right now. That's my point. Too much whining about Grichuk and Tapia, they are just a minor problem here.
  22. Yeah high leverage relievers are always so tempting to want to pay for in the off season, but it's such a crap shoot with relievers. Hopefully the average to s***** BP the Jays always trot out corrects itself from within over the next couple of seasons. There are a s*** ton of intriguing arms in the system and our starting rotation is pretty set for a while.
