  1. Gallo would be an appropriate comp except that Gallo was in the big leagues at the same age 🤣
  2. It's gonna take more than that. 5 yrs 100 mill +
  3. Since when is a low 90s fastball anything to get excited about? Even 15 years ago that's a meh fastball. And like you said his secondaries need work. Yes he's got pitchability which will allow him some success even potentially in the big leagues, but his ceiling is very limited. His body doesn't have much growth left so it's really hard to see him gaining velocity. So he's gonna have to develop some plus secondaries.
  4. He was pitching for Lansing which would say is low minors before he got hurt. He's probably gonna spend the rest of the season in Dunedin which is the equivalent of Lansing now. He had hype when he was 18 in full season ball which is special but now coming off TJ hes still young but nothing special as far as age/level. And as for his actual talent as a pitcher he's very meh all all way around, he's probably got a realistic ceiling as a swing man ala stripling. He needs to develop some killer secondaries or gain like 3 mph to profile as a even a high leverage reliever like you said.
  5. Ehh middling stuff, no projectibility, coming off TJ, still in the low minors, kids years away from the bigs. Seems like the guy we should be including in any deal.
  6. Should be able to get Escobar for a prospect in the 13-20 range. Maybe semm roberese or Eric Pardino
  7. Does losing acuna make the braves sellers? They weren't going anywhere with him, definitely aren't going anywhere without him
  8. Would love to see us go after Eduardo Escobar. Expiring contract so shouldn't cost much. Having another good year. 780 OPS. Good defender at 3rd, switch hitter. Slot in after Teo. Moves Biggio into a platoon role with Gurriel/Grichuk. This move makes so much sense to me. Gives us a different look in the lineup, plugs the black hole on defense at 3rd, base, expiring contract so shouldn't cost too much, VeTeRaN PrEcSeNcE.
  9. If we are gonna cry about missing Walker then can we jerk off about how we won the Ray trade? Especially if he re signs in the off season. Or the Stripling trade (so far)
  10. Much much rather have jansen as the back up. Its clear he's got a much better rapport with the pitchers. His game calling is better imo, his blocking is better, and ya his offense sucks, but McGuire might be even worse. Kirk needs to be brought asap and made the starter. If we want to make serious run for a wild card spot, or have any hope of catching the Sox we can't keep giving away all the catcher atbats to a couple of dog shitters. Atleast 3 times a week kirk needs to be in there so we have a competent hitting catcher.
  11. Can Reese please be DFA'ed like tonight?
  12. Axford another 123 inning tonight
  13. Ill never forgive that bastard for breaking Doc's leg in '05 costing him the CY.
  14. I wish people would stop thinking that Hatch is some kind of savior. Please dont get your hopes up, guys not that good.
  15. Disgustingly bad effort tonight so far. Matz was solid first 15 batters or so, other than that no one has showed up.
  16. That's gotta be the plan with reese. Hope he stays hot and see if you can flip him for something in a few weeks.
  17. I remember there was so much hype around him for a couple years throwing 100... now hed be just another guy lol
  18. Lmao didnt League hulk out and gain like 15 lbs or something all on his shoulders and he couldnt even throw 90 after that
  19. IIRC Shatkins has been on record saying that they carry some room in the budget for deadline acquisitions every year. Also i remember reading that when Kirby went down that the way the contract boosters were written in (saves, innings pitched etc) that they dont count against the budget either so they have a little bit more wiggle room there. I think we could take on some substantial salary because of all that.
  20. If he looses maybe 15-25 lbs and gets leaner could see his arm speed go up and let him hit upper 90s with ease.
  21. Ya if can somehow find a couple mph on his heater and sit 95-96 and hit 98-99 he could be elite
  22. Axford pitching rn in AAA. Anyone have eyes/video?
  23. Reaaaaly should have put Grisham on that image instead of Grichuk.
