  1. His spin rates have been steady through the whole season. No real dips. His curve is actually up a tiny bit from earlier in the season. I think this is more of a location issue with him. His barrel % has spiked in September and I think the number 1 culprit for that is pitch location. No pitcher can survive if he throws meatball after meatball down the middle. What makes it even worse is Ryus pitches are pretty s***** as a whole. His stuff is below average at best so he has to live on the corners and he's still throwing strikes but they are such low quality strikes that he gets banged around throwing his s***** 90 poo and flat 87 cutter.
  2. That brings up a really interesting point. There really haven't been any generational pitching talents come up in the last 5 years or so. The same few guys who were dominating the previous gen have kept it up. Degrom is interesting cause he's the best right now but is already into his 30s so how long can he keep it up? If Buehler and Burnes keep it up for the next 5 years or so they could be the next gen of HOF pitchers but there aren't any like 25 and younger pitchers who project like that. Glasnow maybe but now 1.5 of his peaks years are gone. Urias? Hes still only 25. Bieber? Kinda forgot he existed for a sec. With so many future HOF type position players coming up in recent times there might be a imbalance in pitching talent vs hitting talent in the league for the next few years.
  3. He figured something out since the beginning of August. Walks have dropped pretty significantly. I think he will be pretty interesting to follow going forward.
  4. LOL did I say top 100?? If I wanted to say that I would have. I said hes going to shoot up prospect rankings, as in Jays rankings.
  5. Trent Palmer (our 3rd round pick last year) Since August 4: 31.1 IP 2.84 ERA 2.47 FIP 35.7 K% 11.1 BB% .164 OPP BA 7 inn no hitter on Aug 19. And then today he just threw another 7 inn no hitter with 9K and 2 BB! He's going to shoot up prospect rankings!
  6. Rays now have Mclanahan, Franco and Wisler going on the IL pretty much at the same time. 3 big pieces.
  7. His current power would make Juan Pierre proud.
  8. No for sure, you are definitely right that it's too early to determine who won the trade. Both players could take step forwards. There's a reason both were borderline top 50 prospects to enter the season. However, based on the public info we can gather right now about both SWR and Martin it seems like we might have done well to sell high on both of them.
  9. Getting on base that much in the minors isn't that impressive if it comes with no ability to hit for power. MLB pitchers won't be scared to pump this kid strike after strike if they have no respect for his power. s***, even Biggio, who has a far worse hit tool, probably projects to be a better MLB hitter than him cause he at least has like 50 grade power or whatever MLB average power is..
  10. Pretty much need to sweep the Orioles and Twins to have a shot.
  11. Read my other replies. If Adams is even a solid platoon guy or 2nd div starter this trade will be horrible. If he becomes anything more like a Zunino... Not to mention they get him for 6 f***ing years.
  12. I agree. He had to be moved but not for a extremely spotty reliever for 2 months.
  13. Just because he was 5th on the depth chart doesnt mean you trade him for scraps.
  14. Your way too bearish on Adams. And I said chance. Didnt declare it the worst in franchise history already.
  15. If Adams even becomes a half way decent platoon catcher/2nd div starter this trade will be laughed at for years. Even worse than the Yan Gomes debacle.
  16. This ones got a chance to go down as the worst trade in franchise history.
  17. Add another guy to the list. Like why the f*** do we have so many guys in AAA who throw gas and have solid numbers but we gave shitbags like Chatwood and Dolis so much rope. And gave Snead and Thornton and Castro and Payapms so many MLB innings. Oh and cant forget Travis f***ing BERGEN. Never gonna forget that shitbag walking in like 3 straight runs vs Tampa in May.
  18. Its so clear if you take a look around the league that the number 1 most important thing out of bullpens these days is velocity and we have only one guy on the current bullpen who can even sniff 98. In the offseason we will have to target more guys who can throw hard in relief and maybe take more chances on the guys in AAA who have velo like Stadler and Hobie Harris and Dany Jiminez. No more of guys who only throw 92-95.
  19. Fitz Stadler with 2ks in a clean inning. Can he start to be considered a serious BP prospect? Throws 101 and K'ing a crap ton of batters.
  20. I think hes just insurance incase Springer gets hurt again or cant play cf when he comes back. The teams starting to realize grichuk sucks mega donkey balls so wants to get as many options for cf rest of the way.
  21. Season saved we picked up Jarrod Dyson
  22. When he decides hes pissed you off enough.
  23. Chris Gittens IIRC. Guy literally caught it outside stadium property.
  24. I thought he had a setback. General soreness. Really glad that hes back into games already. Still dreaming on him, Pearson and Romano on the team at the same time.
