    It was going to be a force out at second base to end the inning. Force out means no run scores from 3b. By sprinting through the bag instead of sliding he beats the flip to 2b thus turning the play into a tag play, thus allowing the runner to score from 3rd because runs can score on 3rd out tag plays as long as the runner touches home before the tagout. Pretty smart if you ask me. Never seen that before.

    I think this injury for Ryu probably dates back to last season. Remember when he was dealing in the 1st half, got hurt, came back and was dog poo? Dog poo this season as well. IDK. Sucks but at least we have the depth right now (Stripling) to take the hit. But feels like we could need a acquisition as a safety net now. Pearson becomes more important now.

    Oh definitely, I'm sure he could sit 97-98 for a 20-30 pitch outing with his slider and change up playing up even more and be a good lefty reliever like Chris Sale was his rookie season. But his potential is sooooo bloody high as a SP I don't know if you risk rushing him in 2022 for a 10 or 15 IP cup of coffee as a rp. Now Zulu on the other hand.....

    You forgot the best of the bunch lol. Tiedemann could be in AA in a few weeks. And I still think Zulu could be a dark horse for a 2nd half bullpen spot with the big club. Especially if no big pen arm is acquired at the deadline. Age + stuff + presumed IP restrictions + need in MLB pen could mean a short look in 1 inning outings come August.

    Would love it if we could get Lopez from them. Dudes turned into a beast out of the pen.

    His stuff is good no doubt but someone else with a higher waiver wire claim spot will take him first, probably no chance he gets all the way to the Jays.

    Yes I agree that he should not be sitting twice in 3 games with a team off day in there as well. But they could just be getting him extra rest now so when we play the Yankees next weekend he plays all 3 games.

    Guys you need to realize Kirk is a fat catcher. That's like a double negative against him in the durability department. He's like a 500-550 PA guy over the course of a full season and that's if he plays like 5 times a week. Catch 3x and dh 2x max, and at least 1 day off per week if not 2 when he's tired.

    So since May 24th the Jays are 1st on fangraphs batting WAR at 6.7. Next closest team is at 5. Difference between 1st and 2nd is the same the as the difference between 2nd and 11th. Went back and looked all previous 2.5 week stretches this season and the Jays have by far the best one. Pitching was 13th during this stretch.

    Seems like we are figuring it out at the milb level atleast. Could see a bunch of these guys make big impacts at the mlb level in a year or two.

    Jeez looks like we got another breakout guy to keep our eyes on. Are we turning into the Rays as far as developing pitching?

    Now that the ball is back to being more lively we should be extremely excited about Chapman. I'm expecting him to go on a homer binge here pretty soon. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he doubles his homer count in 10 days or so.

    Sleeping on Tiedemann and Zulu big time. Tiedemann should probably be borderline top 50. And Zulu should sneak into back half off 100.

    Underwhelming and boring win. Wont start to get excited untill they start winning games cause of the hitting.

    It's kinda nutty how we could have like 4 or 5 legit breakout pitching prospects who look so damn good this season. Tiedemann, Zulu, Frasso, Santos. Even Kloff and Robberse have taken big steps forward this year. Not to mentiom the lesser hyped guys like Juenger and Danner and Palmer. Gone are the days of hoping for Patrick Murphy and Joey Murray lmao. Gotta say the Shapiro regime finally seems to have figured out the developing pitching thing.
