  1. I would hold off on rushing Tied since he shouldnt have any sever ip limit like Zulu and Frasso. Keep Tied stretched out and bring him along slowly and then let him go full Shane Mclanahan on the league in 2024. With the other two since they are already 23 and 24 yo if you develop them slowly and go level by level you run the risk of them being 25, 26, or even 27yo when they crack the big leagues and already getting into the decline phase of their careers.
  2. Since Zulu and Frasso had basically 0 ip last year I doubt they stay as sp all year in an effort to limit their innings. So if they decide to shift then to the BP in say August I say send em to AAA for a couple weeks to see if they adjust nicely and then call em up. God knows we need the velo and swing and miss with the big team pen right now.
  3. Zulu was working at the same velo with a good slider, a curve and a change in Dunedin aswell. I don't think he's gonna be challenged at all until he gets to the big leagues. I mean how many minor league batters can hit that type of velo while also having to respect 2 breaking balls and a change up. Would not be surprised at all to see him in a relief role in Toronto by August in an effort to limit his ip. AA by late June, and then to AAA bullpen for 4 or 5 outings and then closing games out in Toronto come September lol!
  4. Hernandez is supposed to have a better change up so hopefully that means his fb doesn't get lit up as much since guys are gonna be guessing/sitting soft stuff, especially since he doesn't use it as much as Richards does.
  5. Austin Martin gonna be looked back at as one of the biggest busts of the 2020 top 10 picks. O/U on his total career war at 10.5, I think I'll take the under.
  6. Ya thats why I was wondering if its worth the time for the Jays to even ask about Soto if the price would be something like that where its like our top 3 prospects plus a cheap above average big leaguer, even for a guy like Soto. At some point your just spending way too much of the future for a 2 year rental most likely.
  7. So Buster Olney mentioned the Jays as a team that other executives expect would make a run at Soto in a trade. On the 1% chance it would happen what would it look like? Moreno + Orelvis + Tidemann + 2022 1st rounder + Espinal? Tiedemann is looking like a lock to be a consensus top 75 prospect at least. Orelvis and Moreno already are top 30. Presumably our 1st rounder this year would be solid and then you get Espinal as well who is cheap, controllable and looks to be a minimum 2.5+ WAR player going forward so his value should be pretty high atm. Is it stupid to even think about this?
  8. For some reason I thought Sano was just a big donkey who hit .230 and .240 up the ladder.
  9. Hmm I thought Sano was always a .250 avg and under through out out his milb career. Guess its a bigger warning sign for Orelvis than at first thought.
  10. Sano has way more raw power but doesnt have the same ability to make contact IMO so Sanos 80 raw power plays down to like 60 game power. Teos a good comp, dont think Orelvis will flirt with a .300 avg like Teo can cause he doesnt seem to want to go the other way but conversely if he really refines his approach he could be a good BB guy as well to go along with his power, something that Teo doesnt do very much.
  11. Biggest thing to me with Orlevis is that this is now the 3rd time he has already shown the ability to handle failure. He got off to a decent start in Dunedin last year, K'd alot, made adjustments and started mashing, moves up to Vancouver and does the same thing albeit we didn't get to see him there for very long. And now this year after a very aggressive promotion to AA he shows off his power early, gets exposed a bit by the better pitching, realizes what he's doing wrong, corrects it and now is mashing again. That to me shows that yes he might struggle at first when he comes up to MLB but he's got the makeup to handle the failure and learn quickly from it.
  12. True, but still clearly far from being 100%.
  13. Yea he looked awful that game, velo was down like 3 mph on both his pitches and command was terrible. Hopefully he goes on the IL to get fixed and Merryweather gets another shot or maybe we see Adrian Hernandez.
  14. Spin rate, velo, spin axis, release angle, horizontal movement, vertical movement, maybe some other metrics afaik for the stuff grade I believe. For the command grade I think it quantifies pitches based on where in the zone the pitches are located.
  15. Ehh I wouldnt say Vasquez is a turd. His curveall is elite, its the main reason we signed him. He just needs some consistent innings to prove him self. http://pitchingapp.pitchingbot.com/ For reference if you go here you can look up every pitcher in the big leagues and see how their stuff and command grades out. Vasquez has a 80 grade curve according to this model.
  16. I still remember that opening day one year where Farrell had him warm up for like 6 or 7 innings in extras before finally using him.
  17. So exciting to have pitching prospects to finally get excited about. Its been Manoah and not much else for this regime. Not counting Pearson cause that mf is made of glass.
  18. Santos's slider today was at a insane 89% whiff rate. 16 whiffs on 18 swings. Absurd. Seems like he might be some slider specialist, he threw it 60% of the time in this game.
  19. Never heard of him before now. Reading up on him now, he had TJ last year after seeing a velo jump and is now getting back into games. Gahd damn, can we add him to the fap group of Tiedemann and Yosver?
  20. Ummmmmmmmm WTF!!! who is this MF????????? 8ks through 3ip. Hes throwing 100 with great spin and a filthy slider that got 6 whiffs on 8 swings.
  21. Ok I thought he was 90-93. Any idea what his max is? Probably like 95? But still even if he sits 92.7, its still a below average pitch purely velocity wise. Still think he would need to sit 94+ with good spin to be a impact rp.
  22. Ehh idk about that. If you asked me to list guys by their importance to the team Richards would probably be like 20th or lower. In that sense he hardly moves the needle for the team and is easily replaceable.
  23. Yea exactly. Decent middle reliever but not someone whos exactly important.
  24. Juts wish that kid threw atleast 94 and not 91. He could still be a solid reliever, but his ceiling is limited.
