  1. Move Kirk and Groshans/Orelvis + for Jose Ramirez. I bet Pearson gets dangled in trades this off season too. Gurriel would be a bit of sell low IMO. I think he breaks out like Teo next season and puts up a 130 wrc+ in 2022. We have the payroll flexibility to take on tons of salary as well. Could take 2 Springer type of deals this winter. Bring back Ray and Semien or go balls out for Corey Seager who would be the absolute perfect fit if he is willing to move to 3rd full time.
  2. Marcus Semein - 18 M Robbie Ray - 8 M Steven Matz - 5.2 M Corey Dickerson - 2.25 M Kirby Yates - 5.5 M David Phelps - 1.75 M Joakim Soria - 1.2 M AJ Cole - 800K Tanner Roark - 12 M Troy Tulowitzki - 4 M Shun Yamaguchi - 3.175 M Tyler Chatwood - 3 M Rafael Dolis - 1.5 M Negligible Players - 5 M Equals about 71 M off the books for 2022 Say Rogers OKs a 20 M increase to payroll for 2022. Gives us roughly 90 M to work with. From what I can tell, Vlad, Teo, Berrios are the main guys who will get significant raises in arbitration. Vlad probably will not break Bellingers ARB 1 record of 11.5M. Im guessing around 10M for Vladdy. Teo will get probably a healthy 10M increase for ARB 2. Berrios will get a healthy raise as well, Im guessing another 10 M. Say about 35 M in ARB raises for the team. Im not a payroll guy so maybe someone else could take a look. So that leaves us still with 55 M to spend on free agents/trades in this scenario. We could very easily sign both Ray AND Semein to extensions and still have money left over to patch the holes. Move Grichuks contract and you get another 10 M. Some how finagle a trade for Jose Ramirez including Kirk and Orelvis and you got a legitimate super team in the AL to rival the Dodgers. Future is extremely bright for a sustained championship bid year in year out.
  3. Obviously! I want the Jays to make it. Goes without saying. But out of the other scenarios id like to see if the Jays dont make it is to see the Mariners get raped on live tv.
  4. I kind of want the Mariners to get cock stomped on a national stage and lose like 14-2 to the Yankees.
  5. There are a lot of things going wrong at the moment. Offense continues to not click the last two weeks. Ray taking a step back this month hurts. Kirks bat going silent hurts. Gurriel getting cleated by Grichuk hurts. Vladdy slumping hurts. Teo going 0-fer vs the Yanks hurts. At least Pearson looks studly.
  6. They basically saved our season by taking 2 of 3 from the Sox. Now they need to roll over for us.
  7. I mean you cant even really rest the regulars. Its not like you got a battalion of guys to pick from anymore. Rosters are only 28 not 40 so for the most part its gonna be business as usual.
  8. He probably starts a fist fight with Chatwood the second time he does it in Cleveland
  9. Pearsons been solid since coming back, xBA of 0.217, 34% K rate, BB rate is high at 9% but you can live with that if he keeps missing bats like he is. Just some s***** luck and control issues. Merryweather though...Yikes!
  10. Theres a lot more than just those. 2 games vs TB at home in Dunedin in May where Chatwood/Bergen walked in like 4 runs in the 9th with a 2 run lead and then a extra inning game where we could have walked off with a sac fly twice but Biggio and Teo choked. Game vs CLE in early June when Chatwood imploded again and walked 5 batters. All 3 games in Buffalo vs the Yankees where the bullpen blew late leads. Game vs BOS in Dunedin in May where Dolis gave up a 2 out 2 run homer to JD to blow a 2 run lead in the 9th. The Detroit game where Kirk let the tying run score on a passed ball in the 8th. So many winnable games pissed away. The other Detroit game where Palacios dives for a ball and gives up a inside the parker. We get half of these games won and we challenge for the division.
  11. Yes of course, there was serious concern when the injury happened but now that we know its just a minor cut and no broken bones, he probably sits today and is back in the lineup tomorrow. Now IS the time to play through these types of things. If it gets worse who cares, he has 4 months to let it heal.
  12. Exactly, some people acting like he had a cut to the damn bone. Wouldn't surprise me to see him DH this weekend if Springer can play CF.
  13. I thought he got activated yesterday and sent to Buffalo.
  14. Yes...gotta play that prospect Juan Graterol, hes a keeper
  15. So we just gonna send Moreno to AAA and then not play him????
  16. Finally! Arent all the Bisons games televised? And I believe MILB TV is free rest of season so could be a great opportunity to to get a good look at him.
  17. The model on that sites uses velocity as one of it parameters to judge pitches so since Manoahs slider comes in at like 80 mph it probably gets dinged when compared to the elite ones like Degroms and Coles. Manoahs slider is probably like a 65 grade pitch irl.
  18. Imagine a 2023 Rays rotation of Glasnow, Baz, Mclanahan, Patino. I dont think any other team even gets close in terms of pure stuff.
  19. Bazs metrics from last night...
  20. Yea, Manoahs rating is one where it kinda feels off. Like how is his SL only a 45 for stuff when its so similar to Berrios CU which got a 55 for stuff. Maybe thats a case where if they change the classification on Manoahs breaking ball to a CU it would grade favorably if compared to other CUs.
  21. Just going by their metric they assigned a overall of 45 on Manoah. Thats below average on the 20-80 scale no?
  22. Found a new fun site to play with. http://http://pitchingapp.pitchingbot.com/ It basically breaks down each MLB pitchers repertoire and assigns a 20-80 grade on them based on spin rate, velocity, movement and location. Some notable Jays: Robbie Ray - 65 FF, 55 SL, 50 CU, 40 CH - Matches the eye test, great fastball, good slider, show me curve and change. Alek Manoah - 55 FF, 40 SI, 55 SL, 50 CH - kinda shits on Manoah, below average stuff overall according to this. Berrios - 60 CU, 55 FF, 55 CH, 50 SI - more kind to Berrios, kinda surprising since him and Manoah are so similar. Ryu - Wont list his individual pitches but his overall stuff is 35 and overall command is 65 which makes sense. Romano - 70 FF, 55 SL, 25 SI - Matches the eye test again, outstanding fastball, good slider Mayza - 60 SI, 60 SL - Not much to say here, eye test matches up again, probably should be used more often Cimber - 75! SI, 40 SL, 55 FF - This site loves Cimber, elite sinker! Pearson - His overall is dragged down by the start he made in Houston in May but his metrics since coming up as a reliever have been insane, with probably around a 70 overall rating. Really like this site. Recommend everyone to take a look. Also some Rays ratings so we can cry together: Glasnow - 75 overall Mclanahan - 70 overall Patino - 60 overall Baz - saw a screepcap on twitter that said like 75 or 80 overall
  23. Upside comparison isn't even close IMO. Baz could be the next Gerrit Cole as soon as next year if they let him loose and make 32 starts. His stuff is absolutely elite and his command is above average. f*** the Rays man, they just keep making stud pitcher after stud pitcher. Snell to Glasnow to Mclanahan to Patino to Baz... and thats just in like the last few years. Before that you had Archer, Price, Shields. It's f***ing insane how good they are at developing pitchers.
  24. Its not that simple of a decision in either direction. Players make sustainable gains all the time. You have to do really dig into what exactly the player is doing now to give them better results. With Ray I think the gains he made are sustainable he should be a quality starter going forward.
