    Thought this thread would be a good spot to post all free agent signings from around the League. Looks like Heaney going to the Dodgers on a 1 year deal is the first transaction of Fall/Winter.

    Well that's s*****. Sucks that the dude had great numbers in AAA and never really got a shot at the big club.

    5/130 for Semien seems good to me. Who would have thought that Semien could earn a bigger deal than Springer a year ago lol. Also, I just can't get behind giving Ray a huge long term deal. Something about a 2 pitch pitcher who has a history of control issues scares me. I would refuse to pay based on his 2021 year alone since a lot of guys lose that same focus once they get their big deal.

    I would wager a guess that the offer would have been on the lowside of what Matz is expecting to get. That seems to be the way our front office operates which is a good approach. No need to outbid yourself at this stage.

    I have a serious question here. Of course Jose Ramirez makes us a much better team for the next 2 years based on his contract. However, do we reach a point where we have too many players on our team that we just can't afford long term that it doesn't make sense to mortgage our young talent for? Assuming we keep Semien and Ray, do you still want to make this trade thinking that there is very little chance we can actually keep Jose after 2 years. The whole plan Shatkins have been pushing is having a balance of experienced vets with controllable cost effective young talent.

    This rogers crap better not impact the Jays offseason. This will be the most important offseason for us in our rebuilding window.

    This I disagree with. I'd love to get Matz back but not at 1/18.4. I thought a 3/30 seemed like a good deal for him.

    I think it's a no brainer that we will tender both Ray and Semien. Now whether they come back will depend on how crazy the market gets. Really want Semien back though since I think he has a better chance to repeat his season.

    This upcoming offseason will define the Stakins era. I'm really confident they'll come out looking great, which is not what I would have said 2 years ago lol.

    As much as I love Vladdy, I'd hesitate to give any super long term deal to a player with weight issues. Around 8 years is the most we should go, which would take him to age 30ish.

    My only issue with all these Jose trade talks is that we need some cheap controllable assets if we have any hopes to sustain our run. That was the whole point of our massive rebuild. Gotta be able to plug in cheap guys to compliment the core. We're probably gonna be near our max budget by the start of next offseason and that's not even counting the massive Vladdy/Bo/Teo/Berrios deals we'll have to dish out by the end of next year.

    As much as I love Brantley, we probably aren't getting Semien in that scenario.

    That sounds like almost every player from the 2015/2016 teams though. Pretty sure our management had something to do with that. There's a reason why they cleaned house totally since they didn't want any toxic leftovers. If they could have traded all the fans around that time, they would have too lol.

    This was my problem with him all year. He should have leaned on our starters more when our bullpen was full of scrubs. Guy thought he had the Rays bullpen and lost us plenty of games because of that. I thought not being able to figure that out was reason enough to fire him but I guess Shatkins are probably taking blame on themselves for that.
