It's honestly shocking how many big level moves they've made. It's like they have a never ending supply of prospects. Their Scouting department deserves all the praise for other teams wanting their guys.

Sounds like it's going to be a 3 way trade with whatever the Padres get back going to the Nationals. Assuming the Padres will eat the entire salary still. My guess anyways.

The initial reaction to the trade was hating it simply because of how long we have valued Groshans while we already saw Bass before. Things have obviously flipped from that time but we'll see how effective he is for us.

I would do that trade without hesitation and then trade Gurriel or Teo for pitching help. CF Springer RF Soto 1B Vladdy C Kirk SS Bo DH Bell LF Gurriel/Teo 3B Chapman 2B Espinal/Biggio Are you kidding me? We'd have a stacked and more balanced lineup!!

Oh for sure... I'm speaking from an "on paper" standpoint. Baseball is pretty random when it comes to the playoffs so I wouldn't say it's impossible. Heck, coming into the season, people expected us to be where the Yankees are at. Ok maybe not that great but at least atop the division lol.

The Astros patched up their biggest weakness and have an insane lineup to match the pitching. Then you got the Yankees who were already better than us and just got even stronger by patching up their only real weakness. I dont see any realistic moves we can make that puts us on either of those teams level. We're almost at a point that we can only win if those teams encounter major injuries
