  1. We're not losing Richards for nothing so he'll be on the team over White. White will need to stay stretched out in case of injury or if Kikutchi still sucks.
  2. Ya that seems like the best place for him. He will have to be our Kikutchi insurance.
  3. Probably because Zimmer has very little experience with base running because you know... you actually have to hit to get there lol
  4. Agreed... I like our offense and starting pitching in any series. It just comes down to the elite bullpen arms where we fall short compared to the other teams. This is still a huge factor as we've seen postseason after postseason so I'm surprised Shatkins continue to neglect this in the offseason.
  5. Yup, I totally agree with this take. Postseasons are still crapshoots so its not like we have no chance. I just hope all this talk about sustainable winning will come to fruition because seeing Teo/Gurriel/Chapman being free agents in 2023 with our farm system not even being that good anymore scares me. Shatkins always spoke about having waves of minor league talent being infused to the big league team. We don't have much left there tbh.
  6. Also funny that we got another right hander to take at bats away from our only 2 lefties (Tapia/Biggio) lol.
  7. So will Zimmer be DFA'd after this move even though he still serves as our best defensive CF and faster base runner? I feel he has more use than Collins on the team currently.
  8. No, I'm upset because not a single player that we got should be expected to play a big role for us in the playoffs other than Bass. This is while our competition got guys who should be doing just that even with Hou and NYY already being clearly better than us at the moment. Maybe your expectations are to just be a playoff team... a lot of people have world series aspirations.
  9. No way I'd take Gausman out of this game. Sucks that excel spreadsheets matter more than what you're seeing with your eyes.
  10. Gurriel man... that was such a pathetic read. Being aggressive should be reserved for fast people...
  11. With Teo/Gurriel/Chapman set to become free agents in 2023, the pressure will sure start mounting next year.
  12. I'm so confused... who's pitching for us and who aren't we sure will get vaccinated? Lol
  13. Pretty obvious why people would be upset. Other than Bass, we worked around the edges. People hoped we'd inject some key pieces like our main competitors did. Our bullpen was an obvious point of weakness in the offseason so I was upset that we didn't do much when all it would have cost us was cash at that point. Now we put ourselves in a position where we had to trade prospect capital for that same weakness. Our front office clearly places 0 importance on bullpen help. Ah well, this is who we got so let's do this!!
  14. Ideally, we need thw following still - a good left handed CF for Springer Insurance that also let's Zimmer be punted off the roster. - Depth 5th starter in case Kikuchi continues to suck - 1 shut down Bullpen arm (this area is too weak compared to the other contenders). Hour left to patch up the holes.
  15. Wait what? Maybe I'm biased since he's crushed us this year but why would they downgrade.
  16. We're at a point where we hope Springer can just DH most of bis remaining contract, let alone transition to RF...
  17. Must have seen images of Iron Man and it discombobulated his brain lol
  18. It's honestly shocking how many big level moves they've made. It's like they have a never ending supply of prospects. Their Scouting department deserves all the praise for other teams wanting their guys.
  19. Sounds like it's going to be a 3 way trade with whatever the Padres get back going to the Nationals. Assuming the Padres will eat the entire salary still. My guess anyways.
  20. The initial reaction to the trade was hating it simply because of how long we have valued Groshans while we already saw Bass before. Things have obviously flipped from that time but we'll see how effective he is for us.
  21. Hopefully we make some more moves because Bass alone isn't going to cut it lol
  22. Or a Merryweather that is currently hurt maybe?
  23. I have changed my stance on the trade lol
  24. Still don't know why the hell we tied up 36M into Kikuchi who was pathetic during the 2nd half of last year to be our 5th starter. The warning signs were there and we could have used that money for the bullpen instead...
  25. Please tell me our biggest move this season isn't going to be the 300M renovation to the dome lol
