  1. They clearly see him as our starting 3B because there's no need to spend that much money when you already have Biggio/Espinal/Schneider on the roster.
  2. I really don't think we need to spend on a 5th starter. That would ultimately make Manoah start the season in AAA no matter what then. Might as well trade him at that point.
  3. Guess they'd rather see Varsho on the bench rather than being the 3rd Catcher.
  4. Sign Hadar and trade Romano/Espy/Varsho/+ for Roberts. Everything works out lol
  5. We're talking about being the 3rd catcher in emergency situations. It's not like he's our full time CF or something so might as well get some reps when he's sitting on the bench
  6. Isn't that what Varsho's for? Lol
  7. Totally agree man. I said so many times throughout the season that last year's Jays were the worst good jays team I've ever seen. It was so painful to watch and they still won 89 games. Need 2 impact bats in the lineup and so far we've gone backwards. Let's see what's next.
  8. Damn... I'm gonna have to be nicer to you going forward. Impressive lol
  9. I swear... didn't Spanky call this signing with the exact terms? He has sources?
  10. I don't agree. The whole world was laughing at our options in the cleanup spot for a reason. We friggin used Varsho for several games to start the season until he proved to be useless there. I agree that people questioned our back end bullpen. I didn't think they'd be as good as they were. For this upcoming year, we are putting a lot of eggs in the Green basket. I hope he's able to revert back to what he was otherwise this can be an issue too. This we can see at the trade deadline based on how they perform until then.
  11. I disagree with all the folks who say "let's wait till the deadline to patch up the holes." Ever since 2020, we have known exactly what our biggest weakness was going to be going into the year and that same deficiency was the exact reason why our season ended early. 2020 - defense (team was young so this was fine) 2021 - defense and bullpen (cost us making the playoffs in what was our best team probably) 2022 - left handed offense and defense 2023 - offense 2024 - projected to be offense again I understand most teams can't be amazing at everything but we should try to be aggressive patching up our holes now while it won't deplete our already thin farm system. We can use those assets for another concern that will probably pop up during the year since things don't always go as planned.
  12. Agreed that the FA class sucks but I'm still hoping we land 2 of Teo, Solar or JDM, Chapman. Teo and JDM shouldn't cost us much and would greatly improve the offense. RF Springer SS Bo 1B Vlad DH JDM LF Teo C Kirk/Jansen CF KK/Varsho 3B cheap FA or one of the AAA guys 2B Biggio/Schneider Absolutely sucks that our best 6 hitters are all Right Handed but I'd rather have that than settle for a crappier Left Handed bat for the sake of lineup balance.
  13. I would cry if that's our 2024 lineup lol
  14. The fact Teo wasn't qualified and could probably be had on a decent contract makes him the better play. Just wish we could have gotten a big left handed bat to bat 3rd in between Bo/Vlad.
  15. Agreed... I'm thinking we finish the offseason with Teo to split OF/DH duties and Chapman. Not sure if the overall fanbase will be happy with the same team as last year but switching Belt for a Teo like player.
  16. Not this again... it's been like 4 offseasons and going about him lol
  17. Did the KK signing break the board? What are these database errors lol
  18. For real man... guys like him don't move off their position when still showing theyre great in the field. I expect 0 innings played anywhere but CF for KK. Varsho better improve with the bat or hope KK falls off dramatically or else he's this teams 4th OFer.
  19. Loll so what do you want to bet that KK is our starting CF for 2024? Some of you guys sound delusional here. I understand this move makes Varsho look like bad because his bat isn't good enough in the corner OF but the Jays management made their decision as of right now. Maybe Varsho comes to Spring Training and takes the job away from KK with his play. Let's see.
  20. There is no way one of the best defensive CFs of his generation is being told to play LF in free agency. You guys clearly haven't seen his ego defensively (rightly deserved) to think he'd choose Toronto and that they'd pay him 10.5M to be a corner OFer. KK starting in CF is a lock for as long as he's healthy. I wouldn't expect him to play a single inning elsewhere like last year.
  21. We didn't sign KK for 10.5M to be Varsho's backup. Of course longterm Varsho is the answer but for 2024, KK was probably promised to be our starting CF again.
  22. As much as I love KK, our needs still remain the same. - OF bat - DH - 3B - backend RP (more of a nice to have)
  23. No doubt... his defense, baserunning and ability to lay down the bunt makes him an ideal 4th OFer. I just don't think Shatkins are ready to accept they traded Moreno/Gurriel for that so it's more likely he'd get moved before that happened.
  24. Would be great to still get Bellinger on a reasonable deal. Then we either trade Varsho for a 3B or make him the 4th OFer.
  25. Pretty sure this would make Varsho the 4th OFer if we happen to add someone else lol.
