Have we signed Bauer yet? As long as he doesn't like to crack jokes at the end of the bench, he meets the criteria of being white so let's just do this already lol. Sorry but I find the whole racial aspect of our offseason hilarious. Just waiting for it to get picked up my mainstream media lol.

Exactly... it's just so friggin weird that players have been accused of a lot worse get to play but Bauer who already served a severe suspension is still radioactive.

Seems like we're all over analyzing the playing time issues. Sure it'll start off with Kirk/Jansen/Belt splitting time at DH but in the end it'll be the best player for the position. Their performances will determine how much they play so whoever starts off slow will see their playing time drastically reduced. This is all assuming everyone will stay healthy, which we know isn't likely. It is great to have internal competition between expected above average players. No more Zimmer's/Tapia's where we expect suckage from the start.

How about we give him healthy food while we expect him to perform at a high level for us instead... wouldn't want Vladdy getting any ideas himself lol. And yes, I'm really fun at parties lol.

I assumed this was already considered. Shatkins let a valuable asset like Donaldon get into his walk year when they had 0 interest in building a world series winner at that time (rightfully so because they were all aging). At that point, you'd think trading your best asset who also plays the same position as your best prospect at the time (Vladdy) would be the smart and logical move. Ah well... not point going into depth on this. We're well past that time now (thankfully so).

It was actually an embarrassing deal. Anyone that argued otherwise was being a homer. We traded a former MVP for a guy who gave us 2 good innings lol. Good thing is that we are clearly past that era of the Jays. I'm pumped for opening day. -
We traded a MVP for that guy. One of the worst trades in the Shatkins era. With that said, I would have preferred to get rid of Thorton over Merryweather. He might always be a "what if" guy but we know Thorton is a "will never be" guy lol.

We have 3 CFs starting so Biggio/Merrifield are our 4th/5th OFers who will only need to play the corners. I don't see a 4th OFer as a major need anymore. If a major injury happens then I think we'll make a trade but for now, we have the right type of depth at all offensive positions imo. We need a 5th starter and/or one shut down bullpen arm.

Unspoken aspect of this signing is that we are one step closer to becoming the White Jays. Obviously I don't believe Shatkins are racist but this offseason is a hilarious coincidence loll.

Really wish we were able to keep Gurriel in the trade. He would have been perfect in the platoon role with KK.

Vladdys not getting traded because we signed a 34 year old to a 1 year contract loll. Now whether we trade him in the future because we don't want to pay him 400M is another question. As long as they structure his extension like Zion's contract in the NBA where they put in a fat clause im good with it. Otherwise, i dont trust fatties when they dont have incentives to stay in shape lol.

I legit can't believe the Jays have spent this much. This is truly a make or break year for Shatkins. I'm pumped for opening day!!

That's my thinking too. Also provides great injury insurance for when Jansen/Kirk go down with their usual DL stints lol.

Ya Espy is definitely staying on our team. He's the only one who can play a good 3B/SS. Personally, I think Biggio stays too. His value is too low and with the shifts being banned, he can build his value back hopefully. It's friggin amazing having a stacked bench for once.

It's a 1 year deal and not my money so I'm happy with adding a good player. Dude helps balance our lineup a lot more. Main issue with the guy is that he can't stay healthy but hopefully that changes as a DH and backup 1B.
