  1. Can't believe you're saying this. This is like a Harvey Dent like move since you're usually on Team Positive lol.
  2. Report: Dodgers agree to deal with Kershaw https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2838974
  3. I definitely did not say our starters will suck but the health was MLB record setting levels. It's hard for that to repeat and if we see Mitch White and other AAA fodder being forced to start, we will see fallback there. In the end, I don't see the bounceback being high enough to overcome the fallback in other areas. Most fans were hoping we would try to take a step forward instead of taking a step back. That's where the disappointment comes from.
  4. People keep trying to push that we will get bounce backs from some guys while it wont be cancelled out in other areas. What says that our starters will set another MLB record in terms of health and make 30+ starts again? We lose a couple of starters to injuries and the drop-off will be felt. It was a horrible offseason and there's no other way to put it. Yes, we are still a good team but we were hoping to be great and we are definitely not that.
  5. I am so not pumped for this season if we are truly done man. A crappy hitting team has become crappier. Now I'm only speaking from an entertainment, last years Jays team was extremely unwatchable and I truly feel this years team is going be worse in that terms. We are going to be hoping for a lot of 2-1 wins.
  6. Damn... I thought we won more games that year but that was probably because we had an unreal 2nd half. Still easily the most fun I had watching baseball was the 2nd half of that year. Loved we had *******s like Jose/Donaldson/Stroman that made other teams hate us more lol
  7. Only the great AA was able to give us a division title in 2015 since '93. It's f***ing unreal lol.
  8. I dunno man... one team plays in the AL East while the other is in the AL West. Not as big of a difference after balancing schedules but its still a factor for us to deal with.
  9. It's time to play for 2nd in the division. They are becoming the new Astros/Dodgers for the time being. Thank god for expanded playoffs because this team wouldn't sniff the playoffs otherwise.
  10. Lolll definitely didn't want the convo to go down this path on a damn message board but Spanky is able to bring things out in people no one else can.
  11. I was speaking more about present times but that's impressive... respect level went up a bit lol
  12. I promise you that I'd school you in every aspect of baseball even with it being my 2nd sport lol.
  13. That's why I added the "great young foundation" part. This is what separates good teams like the Dodgers/Astros and the teams you mentioned including the Mets.
  14. Haha no, you said Kirk was a better baserunner than Moreno and that I should go check the numbers. And I do understand most of the numbers but won't pretend to know what goes into every calculation lol. I'd rather know what I'm actually watching on the field than be so reliant on fangraphs to tell me how to think every step of the way
  15. If the Orioles start going big game spending to go with their great young foundation then we are truly f***ed. Hope that's just a rumour.
  16. LOL so basically you have no opinions of your own based on what you see. Instead of posting, just use a fangraphs link going forward and let those numbers speak for you. Be warned though, it'll make you have takes like thinking Kirk is a better baserunner than Moreno lol
  17. I'm sure Bo will love being moved to 2B after working so hard to become average at SS right before hitting his big free agency lol.
  18. Ya I'm with you on most of what you said except the weight not being in "his control". Everyones weight is within their own control. I do have faith he'll be a good hitter but just not sure if it'll be good enough to justify batting 5th for a World Series contender. Please just add one more great hitter and we'll be set on paper.
  19. You also have to factor in that Burnes will be qualified so Baltimore will get a compensation pick if it is only 1 year. Great trade for the Orioles.
  20. Springer has YEARS of success so anyone who says he can bounce back is more likely to be right. Varsho and Kirk do not have this track record hitting wise at the major league level. Kirk/Varsho are just as likely to be bad at the plate as they are good, that's all my point is. Now i need your help on this buy does wRC+ account for base running? Kirk's baserunning cost us plenty of runs the past few years. That should also be factored into his overall offensive value but not sure how that can be measured properly.
  21. Dude, I don't give a crap about AAA numbers. Most players in the majors raked in the minors, which is why they're even in the majors. It's all about how they perform in the major league level. Based on that, Kirk is just as likely to be an average hitter as he is an above average one. Now I don't want this to be misconstrued because I do have faith Kirk is a good hitter but he does not have a track record in the majors to be super confident one way or another. Also, I hate that he's a fat f*** who clogs the bases and needs more rest than the average player because of his body even though he's in his early 20s lol.
  22. We've already fapped to Baltimore in the ownership change thread but they are going to own the AL East for years to come.
  23. You make it sound like Kirk is some 10 year vet with a vast history of being good to great. He's been crap/average as much as he's been good/great. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. This doesn't even include the fact he lost all his power apparently and clogs the bases even when he does get on base. Think most would agree that we are still missing at least 1 elite bat at the top of the order to move everyone down a peg where they belong.
  24. People said the same thing about Berrios and were crying about him. A stud prospect who had a stud like year is allowed one bad season. The whole premise of our offseason currently is that our entire batting lineup will bounce back but Manoah won't. Just think it's foolish but we'll find out soon enough.
  25. Dear God... you sound like Trudeau. Just answer the damn question man loll
