    I think the Jays are making offers to a lot of free agents but trying to get them on their terms aka at a bargain. It's a good method in case the market for the player isn't what was expected. Landing Gausman/Springer were great gets. I can't even fault the front office for going after Ryu, just wish they negotiated better on that 4th year.

    Ya dude... our bullpen had nothing to do with HISTORICALLY blowing a 8-1 lead at home in a playoff game. Gosh, you're just so smart lol.

    If this happens then I'm going to be absolutely pissed as a Jays fan. These f***ers went from possibly losing Judge to getting him back AND adding Correa.

    Disagree... we all see how playoff baseball is played and the level of importance shutdown relievers have. Romano is our best and he'd be like the 3rd/4th reliever on most playoff teams. Again, don't take this as Shatkins sucking all together. They've done a great job getting us to this point. They just need to keep that momentum going whereas some feel (including me), we stagnated this past season.

    Especially when their philosophy is to pull their starting pitchers as early as possible. If you wanna have the philosophy of the Rays then go trying bringing a similar level of pen arms. They have neglected this glaring aspect through free agency and haven't had much help from their farm system. Even when they were with the Indians, it was after they left that the next GM brought in Andrew Miller. He ended up being their MVP and the Indians achieved their greatest team success afterwards. Still have nightmares of him absolutely shutting us down in the playoffs.

    I definitely don't think they've screwed up so hope that wasn't what you got from my post. They also haven't done well enough to get a much longer leash. Everything we see on the field is exactly how they wanted and they've been given enough time and money to do so. In my eyes, Atkins has this upcoming season for the team to make some noise or he'll be gone. Shapiro on the other hand has a longer leash. Outside looking in, this org seems to have a bunch of yes men and not enough people who challenge the methods/procedures from top down. Don't think Mattingly will be the savior but at least that's a voice who I feel is different than what they've had during their entire tenure here.

    Doubt it had anything to do with Riccairdi. He still signed that 1 day deal to retire as a Jay. From everything out there, Brandy didn't appreciate how the Jays aka Shatkins treated him during his post playing career. Shatkins is pretty much hated by the 2015 team and had a really rough run with their PR during their early years.

    Exactly... What Shatkins promised everyone was a constant wave of young talent being infused into the big league squad to build a "sustainable winner." Well, let's see who the next wave will be once the Vladdy and Bo extensions kick in because no chance we are going to spend 250M on a payroll lol.

    This is where I feel people are wrong. Just because we did well offensively last year does not mean we are able to take one of the best contributors out without being much better in other areas. Our bullpen, defense and starting pitching has not gotten better enough to offset that particular loss. And yes, I understand there's still a lot of offseason left but just addressing that train of thought as we currently stand.

    Shatkins were given a big budget and a blank slate while being given the best player on the team currently (Vlad). It's been 7 years since they've been here so everything should be solely on them and no one else. Now we're still World Series contenders who just need to patch up a few major holes to really take that next step. Let's hope Shatkins can make that happen or else their asses won't be here in a few years.

    Holy f***... I'm happy Bogaerts is out of our division and even happier he left the Red Sox. The Padres are gonna be stacked next year with Tatis coming back too. Soto/Tatis/Machado/Bogaerts - is this the best 4some in baseball?

    Some teams can do that and some teams can trade their Clean up hitter for a good reliever. OK I'm done for today lol.

    Nope... not until I see an improvement from him or at least an equivalent. While I hated his lack of hustle on defense, his bat was big for us. Still a lot of time to do something but I'll be here bitching until we do lol.

    The Berrios deal should have looked amazing in comparison... now only if he didn't forget how to pitch last season lol.

    Probably should have waited to trade Teo if we really didn't have anything lined up. Getting a little anxious with some names coming off the table and the Dodgers/Yankees lurking to patch their holes. Those teams will always outbid us for anyone they really want.

    My God... the Phillies just went to the World Series and are upgrading like crazy regardless what you think of the contracts.

    If the Astros get Contreras, why even play next year? Obviously I'm kidding... kind of... maybe not lol. Regardless, that'll be one of the best lineups in recent memory.

    Every year people cry about the free agent market and how everyone's being overpaid. Either you have an endless budget or you need to fit on most of the deals you dish out. Welcome to the big boy club.

    Nope... that just means Gabby is about to explode while Randy will be busted for PEDs soon lol. Never do a trade with them!!
