  1. Ya it's great most of the time but there are times you need to be able to use it in crucial running situations. Regardless, it was great seeing him steal some bases today. We need that dynamic added to the team if we're not gonna mash the crap out of the ball.
  2. Love seeing those steals from Varsho. He needs to add this to his skillset to provide more offensive value to the team. Still don't get why he can't slide headfirst lol.
  3. Can we bring AA back to Toronto maaannnn... go apologize Rogers
  4. Any update on how Votto did today?
  5. So you're saying the Jacket will account for the highest WAR from any offseason addition lol.
  6. It's always the damn Padres who are making these blockbuster trades. They must have had the best farm system in the league or just great at making trades to be able to do this nonstop for years.
  7. Don't worry, I'm already here lol.
  8. You only get so many years of being able to play so you better take advantage while you can. You can spend the rest of your life sitting around lol.
  9. Not mad at all for giving him a tryout. It's awesome and I support all minor league deals since we have nothing to lose here. I'm just speaking about giving him a potential roster spot over someone who could be more desevering solely because he's Votto. I don't got that attachment towards him, that's all. If he makes the team based on merit then that'd be awesome.
  10. Ya so now it makes perfect sense to take him on when he's completely washed up at 40. Again, I'm impartial and only want him on the team if he outperforms his peers. I care about this team's Wins and Losses total... not a feel good story.
  11. https://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/joey-votto-apologizes-remarks-ripping-canadian-baseball/ I still remember his original comments, which were backed up by his actions. Apology was only because he got a lot of blowback. Again, I don't hate Votto but I could care less about giving him a spot because it feels good. If Vogelbach is 1% better than Votto then I'm taking Vogelbach.
  12. That makes you a massive guy then. It doesn't take anything away from Pop being a solid build.
  13. My 2 cents have always been that Votto didn't care to being a Blue Jay when he was actually good so I don't care to have him on the team when he's probably completely washed. Now with that said, Turner is 39 so it wouldn't be the craziest thing for Votto to have a random bounce back season. Hopefully the Jays can determine things quick in Spring Training.
  14. Report: Blue Jays sign Votto to minor-league contract https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2834739
  15. You need to go see what a 6'4 220 pounder looks like then lol
  16. Speaking of Alpha players... easily one of my favourite Jays even though we only had him for a few years. Former AL MVP Josh Donaldson retires after 13 seasons https://www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2859884
  17. Add him and Chapman to the list of all Alpha players that hated their guts. Gonna take a few years for them to move past this like most of the 2015/2016 roster lol.
  18. Already yelling at my brain for not retaining this Schneider fact lol
  19. Glad to see the Jays baserunning is in mid-season form lol
  20. Damn, I didn't know about the Schneider glove story. Pretty damn cool lol
  21. There's been a lot of discussion on how this past offseason went and what it means for the Jays this upcoming season. The Jays won 89 games last year and finished in the 6th Wild Card Spot last year. So now that we pretty much know what the Jays final roster will be, what are your predictions on how many games the Jays will win and where they will finish? It would be great to bump this thread to know where the most positive posters vs the most pessimist posters stood. Personally, I see this team being slightly worse than last year and finishing with 86 wins. Hard to know where that lands them in the final standings but I'd guess we finish 7th and on the outside of a wild card spot. Of course the predictions would be subject to change if the Jays make major trades before the deadline or encounter major injuries as well.
  22. Came here just to see Kirk and Vogelbach on the bases at the same time lol
  23. We've had 2 good years of what I'd consider fun baseball since and that was 2015 (2nd half) and 2016. The only year I considered fun and entertaining under the Shatkins regime truly was 2021. We didn't even make the playoffs that year because they reacted too late by letting the bullpen blow game after game.
  24. Not sure if this is correct or not but is it true that the comp pick the Jays are getting for Chappy will be after the 4th Round?
  25. This message board is my Blue Jays therapy so I can be normal in real life lol. Also, let's not pretend like I'm being negative of a franchise that has accomplished so much.
