  1. I know, right? I think if a lot of us had that, and the motivation to be one of the biggest stars in MLB, we'd be able to do it.
  2. Lol true. But if the Jays were tied with all the other teams last year by late July, I think you would have been pumped.
  3. Watching yesterday's intrasquad game, I was just amazed at how much young talent there is everywhere. Of course you have the core 4-5, but then guys like Espinal, or even Wall, could really be something. Tellez looks like he may start hot. There seem to be almost no lame players on the roster at this time. In a 60-game season, this could be really fun. I am still wrapping my head around the idea that this is the equivalent of being tied for first after 102 games during a regular season.
  4. He's on this particular list https://www.totalprosports.com/2011/09/16/9-smartest-players-in-major-league-baseball/
  5. Joey Votto strikes me as pretty cerebral. I really like Grandy, and do think he's pretty smart.
  6. Yeah, same typing style. Interesting.
  7. How would you all rate this draft out of 10? I am not honestly sure they could have drafted better. 10/10?
  8. Does Frasso have the worst agent ever, or was he taken when maybe he shouldn't have been? Who signs for $300 under slot, and almost immediately?
  9. Thanks for this. Everything you say makes sense. It may not mean anything, but that fact that the Jays signed Ryu, a Boras client, and the fact that the Jays are treating their minor league players very well may actually count for something, too.
  10. Is anyone worried about signing Martin? I get the feeling that Boras wants him to sign an amount like the first overall, which may force the Jays to give up a draft pick next year. Anyway, I have heard nothing. Has anyone else?
  11. Not me! Not with the Yankees, Red Sox and f***ing annoying Rays in our division.
  12. Man, we have a deep, awesome, controllable infield. Just have to work on that OF.
  13. Those are all great points. It doesn't hurt that we signed one of Boras's big clients in the offseason I wager.
  14. Yeah, I agree. If we lose one of the five we drafted to get this guy signed and happy, it's worth it. Would $1M over be necessary?
  15. I have seen some experts already say Martin is our 2nd best prospect, leapfrogging Groshans. Holy s***.
  16. It would have been cool to see Olerud pitch. IIRC he was good enough to get a MLB look.
  17. Isn't Tanaka's arm hanging on buy a thread? It would be a good time. I will bet if you are on the IL, you are still paid your full salary even if the league suspends pay due to work shortage. Just spit ballin'
  18. Purchased a license...looks awesome. Thanks
  19. Every time I see Fisher play defense, he looks horrible. Like I have my glove on and I'm out there playing.
  20. I agree. Alford has totally played his way off this roster. How long before he is an Oriole?
  21. That is my impression, too. It will take a white hot 10-12 ABs for Alford to be considered at this point. f***ing up a couple of routine plays really destroyed his chances. His plus skills lie on that side, and he messed up in the spotlight. Again. Ugh.
  22. 100% - I agree with all of this. You're right, Puig should be good for > 2 WAR, and even if only signed for a 1-year should be able to net one or two decent prospects at the deadline. And by then, hopefully one of the OF prospects has emerged a bit.
  23. Yeah, I would sign him for a 2-year, plus 1 year option. Not just one. But then again, even then they could get good value back in trade end of July if he's on pace for a ~2 WAR season. Plus he is f***ing fun to watch. No offense to McKinney. Or drying paint.
  24. All signs, and buzz, are pointing to TJ surgery. Wow, that's insane. He'd be done for 2020 and probably a good portion of 2021.
