  1. Vlad for me tonight please
  2. It's a good thread, but I don't want to see Vlad compared to other underperforming Jays players.
  3. Many on this board erroneously think a closer should close out 100% of their save opportunities. Even Mo blew nearly 1 in 9 of his opportunities. Career save percentage: Mo - 89.1% Eckersly - 84.3% Hoffman 88.8% KRod - 85.2% Wagner 85.9% Henke - 85.0% Duane Ward - 77.1% Edwin Diaz 86.7% Devin Williams 85.7% Romano 89.3%
  4. Report I read said his velo went down from where it normally is before being removed. I'm not sure if the 91 was reduced or expected velo though.
  5. I don't think so. Snider probably takes the steak there. The expectations for Lawrie and Hinske after their rookie seasons were pretty high too.
  6. Can you imagine how much Barger and Orelvis would be getting talked about if they played for Norfolk?
  7. I will go with Schneider tonight
  8. Without the players consent they aren't even legally allowed to.
  9. Given how pitcher injuries have skyrocketed I am really starting to wonder if the industry as a whole took a big swing and miss with all the babying of pitchers and light workloads in the minors are actually causing more injuries. There could be a couple of things at play: 1. You've got these guys going 3IP max and because of that they go max effort the full 3IP. 2. Guys get to the majors and are throwing 2-3 as many innings a game than what they have done through most of their time in the minors. Of course the second can't be the case for Ricky, but maybe the first point is?
  10. SSS, but he is slugging 719 with 4 doubles, 2 triples and a home in 36 PAs in AA this year.
  11. Did anyone see any updates on this?
  12. And starting it all against a knuckleballer. Normally this would screw with their timing but with their timing already being off maybe it will have the opposite effect and fix it?
  13. I didn't think Roger's centre had dirt at the track so the player have to rely on fans/teammates? Or has that changed in the renos?
  14. It's still early and I would guess our guys will get used to them a bit more going forward. Other stadiums have tight walls like this but I'm not sure if they also have turf where you can't tell be the material under your feet when you are getting close to the wall (although I don't think other teams have warning tracks on those walls?)
  15. As a Jays fan, it would be. As a baseball fan, heck maybe it still would be...no one wants to watch an Orioles dynasty.
  16. He's not, but you are missing the point. If you want to look at a smaller sample, this is Trout's slash line in his first 47 PAs - .163/.213/.279. Trout struggled a ton and then became the best player in the league. Using any numbers after 23 PAs (good or bad) to make a determination on Holliday is a fool's game.
  17. With respect to Holliday .220/.281/.390 That's Mike Trout's slash line from his first cup of coffee (135 PAs)
  18. It certainly has helped that they were able to take the payroll to heights that hadn't been seen by the Jays since the early 90's.
  19. April 16 Vladdy - 1 Point - mphenhef Bichette - 2 Points - LTBF Turner - 3 Points - Dylan Springer - 3 Points Schneider- 3 Points - Spanky Varsho - 4 Points - Jansen - 5 Points - WryNGinger, bones10, JaysBlue Kiner-Falefa - 7 Points Clement - 8 Points - wilko The Bench (Any PH): 10 Points
  20. It's been ten years. That's plenty of time to build your own core regardless of what was left for you. I mean Vlad debuted in pro ball after these guys took over and Bo was drafted (after these guys were convinced by scouts of the outgoing GM) in their first draft.
  21. April 15 Vladdy - 1 Point Bichette - 2 Points Turner - 3 Points Springer - 3 Points - mphenhef Varsho - 4 Points Kirk - 5 Points Biggio - 5 Points - wilko Kiner-Falefa - 7 Points Kiermaier - 7 Points The Bench (Any PH): 10 Points
  22. Davis Schneider please
