  1. Bieber is pitching for a big contract in the offseason too. That means something and he will want to show what he has got.
  2. And Red Sox fans before game 3 of the wild card.
  3. I think part of that 10 years ago was the pure disrespect of Joey Bats flip where he was staring down the pitcher. Vlad's was a flip but didn't come off nearly as much as trying to show up the other team. Note, I am in the pro Batflip camp.
  4. He was never pretending he couldn't speak it (that's more Ohtani territory when it works to get out of gambling scandals). He always said he was using the interpreter because it wasn't his first language and he wanted to make sure he didn't hear or say the wrong thing. In this age of getting cancelled so quickly, I can't fault anyone for that preference.
  5. I love this attitude from our players. Vlad too after the game he hyped up in front of the fans, but as soon as he was in the tunnel he was quiet, reserved, saying "One more game, One more game". It reminds of the Kawhi Raptors who even after series wins were very focused on the next series and not being done.
  6. Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager
  7. I was pretty damn excited in 1993 when Joe touched them all despite having won the previous year and having the highest payroll in the league!
  8. I am ok with this. We want this series to go 5...get Skubal/Kirby pitching again before the ALCS
  9. Yeah, the Sox defenders looked like Yankee defenders in the inning where all the runs were scored. Not for not, but the Yankees just used Bednar 6 times in 8 days. One has to wonder if that comes back to hurt them?
  10. Jays were 6-1 at home versus the Yanks, 2-4 at Yankee's stadium. Home field could very much come into play.
  11. I was unsure if I preferred the Yankees or Red Sox as an opponent. The let down I felt watching the Yanks score their first runs last night made me realize I would have preferred the Sox.
  12. Just throwing this out there, but when Buck retires I'm guessing Siddall moves into the booth. Wouldn't Gibby be an awesome guy to have on the pre-game? That would be so much fun to listen to.
  13. Because the network who paid for the prime time game wants BOS/NYY
  14. I'm honestly not sure. Both teams have the capacity to kick the ball around plenty. Crochet in 2 games does scare me but after him I'd rather face the Sox pitchers over Rodon/Gil.
  15. This is a ridiculous take. If he is not playing to protect his free agency money than the injury is legit. Otherwise, it would make far more sense as far as maximizing his free agency to come back and play and show teams that may look to sign him that he is healthy. Also, you think already having generational wealth is the reason he would hold out to protect his next contract? Was Dante a big union guy or something?
  16. That's just it. If a SS or 2B did this, they are getting spiked on the slide.
  17. First two games are scheduled, sort of. Saturday is a 1:08 start time if Boston wins, 4:08 if Yankees win. Sunday is 4:08 either way. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-mlb-broadcast-schedule-announced-1.7648128
  18. To put this in perspective, Sunday night baseball on ESPN averaged 1.83 million viewers. The peak as of late August was an average of 2.572 million viewers for a Yanks/Red Sox game. These are truly some crazy numbers for baseball. Games on Fox averaged 2.04 million viewers Yankees average just under 300K viewers per game on YES. Their TV contract paid them $143 million in 2022 and that's for only roughly 80% of their games. The Jays average audience this year for the full season was 906 800 per game. Main Street Sports, the broadcaster for 8 teams, averaged 1.5 million a night...cumulative for 8 teams. The winning Bluejays are a huge moneymaker for Rogers. 19. If anything, going into free agency he would want to get back and show teams he is fully healthy.
  20. you can see the results in the bump that Steve Nash caused in basketball right now with all the Canadians in the league. I believe there was another bump after the Raps won it all in 2019 too.
  21. It wasn't illegal in that jurisdiction. 'Murica
  22. 2 is Hoffman in Sep. 1 is Seranthony, 3 is Varland.
