  1. Maybe... Regardless, don't want 2nd half Chapman and need assurances that was an outlier due to injury... I would say that based on the fact he is currently a FA, other teams have the same concerns..
  2. What was Chapman's 2nd half? Because unless something I/we are not aware of occurred the 2nd half... That is the Chapman I would be afraid we receive... I would wager a large part of that plus 9 was from first half stats.
  3. Chapman sucked the 2nd half of last year and his D started going down hill also. How many more wins does Chapman give us then our current configuration? (Not that I am happy with the current configuration) What does Chapman really bring to the table for that amount of $$/term and exceeding the luxury tax threshold... *Assuming anything more than a 1 yr pillow contract.
  4. I really hope that Espinal continuing to be with our starting player lineup is just to showcase him to move him, and not because he is in consideration as part of a 2b platoon...
  5. Yankee’s media has been saying the past week that they are not done- Most likely referring to one of the FA SPs left on the market.
  6. How did it become pitcher friendly in 2021 when it was the same structure and OF dimensions it had been for years... Maybe the roof was open a lot in the late summer when they returned or what was the variable?
  7. 2021 Vlad was probably that way in large part due to Dunedin, Buffalo and old hitters park Rogers Center.
  8. Espinal you will see the same s*** regular season. Send the dude packing please. The Cardinals are looking for SS depth.
  9. The uniforms look like s*** with the white faced hat, baby blue bill, dark blue body then a big green TD square that doesn’t match the blue… There were years I would have paid big $ to get my hands on the spring training hat.
  10. And then has a career ending injury at 31 a la Prince Fielder... On a similar note... The Giants invited The Panda to camp on a MILB deal. The headline of one of the local SF baseball/news pages reads. Best shape of his life, looking good Panda! It's spring time... All is great...
  11. Concur, trade for as much as you can get his final year..
  12. Deja vu... I remember this from 2-3 years ago when we saw Vlad moving tractor tires as part of his Core strength CrossFit WOD or whatever.. The the Team goes on the road, club house buffets, stop by for Abuela's cooking in LA and same old same old by June.
  13. This year they were all just given Ozempic Only/half joking...
  14. Merry Go Round... Which is not what I would like... But pretty sure that is the direction they are going... Barring trade etc....
  15. They still have a lot more in the pipe coming their way. Even if 2/3rd of their specs s*** the bed, they still have an infusion of talent coming. They still have a 1, 2 punch of Burnes and Rodriguez.. Their 4 and 5 guys were palatable last year and they always find a way to have a good pen, even in their dog days... I wouldn't discount them.
  16. Great pick-up by the Rays. I was hoping he would come to TO as our UT guy.
  17. Probably because of this. Why wouldn't you have question marks.. He got what 0 ABs in the playoffs? 4 Blue Jays players who have no business being on the 2023 playoff roster The decision could be tough and harsh, but which Blue Jays players should be left off the postseason roster? In his first 21 games with the big league club, Schneider hit a scorching .403 with a 1.416 OPS, along with 18 runs scored, nine doubles, seven home runs, 19 RBI, 17 walks and 22 strikeouts. More importantly, the Jays went 14-7 in those games that he played, as he appeared to be unstoppable. However, he is currently mired in quite the slump, as in his past 13 games, Schneider has only tallied three hits in a total of 50 plate appearances, posting a dreadful .067 batting average, .316 OPS with three runs scored, one home run, one RBI and 20 strikeouts. As a result, he has been noticeably absent from the starting lineup during the Jays’ crucial last week of play of the season. Even though Schneider has had an amazing start to his MLB career, his recent extended slump is a huge concern as it showed that there were still some things he needs to work on at the big league level, especially when pitchers have finally figured him out.
  18. If only I was arguing about the Jays giving out minor league contracts, you and I would be in agreement. 100% agree with your above statement. My concern in all my posts is the MLB roster composition/current possibilities.
  19. Message board? What kinda damage is he going to do to the cheese board in the clubhouse!???
  20. See Max, I am ok with a retort like this. It doesn't have an arrogance of a know it all telling a long time poster to delete their account. Back to my original post and what many of the posters in this thread are not, or purposely not distinguishing. There is a difference between bringing in depth, happens all the time and I am 100% ok with. VS. - Not having a a sufficiently adequate roster and throwing mud at the wall/hoping to hit lighting in the bottle and something sticks to fill weaknesses on the MLB roster. Yes, lots of teams have to do this. Teams have been and are doing it for years. We were hoping on significant improvement from last year. Especially since our competition is getting better. The reason these moves are being highlighted is because up until now (time left) the team is just trying to equal last year's production and I have not seen any significant improvement. It is all replacement level moves vs taking the team to next level. Remember page 1 of the IFK signing thread - If he is a depth piece solid move. No way he is our starting 3b, don't get panties in a bunch, just a depth move. IFK- Currently the starting 3b.
  21. Rich coming from the guy who is literally the worst talent assessor and knows less about actually building a winning Team than any of the frequent posters on the board. Wouldn’t be the first time this has been pointed out either. Go shout to the clouds about some broadcaster using the win stat or something.
  22. What would be more entertaining than watching the Panda and Vogelbach play baseball is maybe a Sumo match or an eating contest or straight up 1980's WWF....
  23. Jesus, the Giants signed the Panda to a milb deal... They are even more desperate for depth than the Blue Jays
  24. Billy Eppler likes your style...
