    In Jim’s defence, and since I was the one who brought up SB. I was doing some research and it appears he was struggling or mediocre until they had him do this old school, leg kick. Apparently, the leg kick is responsible for his success. So, I dont think it is a stretch to ask (I am great at puns🤣) if he can pitch as effectively in the strech. Or, will the need to hold baserunners negate his success factor. I don’t know, I didnt see his splits. I did try looking for his delievery time to plate and came across some Mr. D videos I started watching instead. I am scarred for life with bad experiences from gimmick pitchers. I would never have a knuckleballer on my team again after the Dickey experience. I have seen guys sidearm or submarine who fall off the mound so discombobulated they are never in position to field a ball and are taken advantage of etc. I just hope that he can pitch just as well without the leg kick as with it.

    How many bases are going to be stolen off of that delivery. Billy Hamilton would be at 2b before his foot hits the mound. It is like we got a pitcher and one of the Rockets all in one.

    Carlos Danger says, love it if was Travis. Don’t like it because it was Diaz. I think he could have turned into a Marcus Scuturo type. Did I mention Travis is still on the team. His D sucks and his bat hasn't been compensating for his D. He will be injured again. Hope this means Biggio is on the fast track to the team next summer!

    So I was listening to Shapiro the other day. I am now convinced Gibbons was asked to leave (fired), but they let him save face by saying he is not interested in a re-build etc. Basically, Shapiro said, there was nothing wrong with the Clubhouse culture and team culture so to speak. However, if we want to win the AL East it has to be much better and a different mindset and that is what Montoyo brings. In plain English, Gibby was average, they think that Montoyo can be exceptional. Gibby was fired, plain and simple.

    So I was listening to Episode 8 as I was driving into work today. Via Youtube. Only was able to listen to the first 20 mins until my cell lost signal. Will pick up the rest later when I am in a better coverage area. I enjoyed what I was listening to. I even liked the off-topic stuff like the guys paper Halloween costume catching on fire. (Sorry he died though) Need a few regular stories mixed in with the baseball. I was also laughing a lot during the big butt discussion. Something that made me go WTF and I couldn't wait to post the question is: Who the hell kept saying PLATT Toon?? It is Pla toon, like the movie or a platoon of men.. There is NO PLATT, it is pronounced pla Toon.. Anywhere in North America. Then someone kept calling Kershaw, Kerrrr sHaw.. It is Kershaw Apart from strange words I had never heard before, really enjoy it, so far. Keep up the good work.

    Have not been a fan of Shapiro. However, I will give him credit for taking the Young Guns down to Ft. Benning to go through some pseudo type of Ranger school. Ranger school is the best leadership program the US Army has, apart from being in Delta, but they probably can't go there. Apparently our guys will be working on leadership, working as a team and hopefully embracing the suck to learn a little about persevering in difficult situations and not quieting. I would prefer to send them to BUD/s, but Vlad would probably drown, so better to keep them on firm ground.

    A couple of things reference P2F’s list. I would love to have Biggio on the team in April 2019. Where are you getting info that the Blue Jays FO have the same timeline?? If Bigiani is still in our pen and Travis is taking up bench space or starting I am going to consider both of those fails.

    From a purley enterainment view, keeping in mind baseball is competing against other sports and entertainment. Modern baseball is slower and more boring. I have heard time and time again, trying to watch 15 pitching changes, Ks off the chain, less hit and run, stolen bases, bunts etc and having to wait for a guy to hit a HR is boring. From the avg casual fan point of view they are probably right.

    I know the Dodgers would need a solid offer. From our point of view we have too many damn IF that are not "utility" guys. We need to cut the fat and move out a guy like Travis, plus 1 we have Drury, Tulo, Diaz, Gurielle, Urena, Vlad Jr soon, I am sure I am missing someone, the problem is, many of them can only play 1 position or 2 max. Kiki can play all three OF positions and has played every IF position but catcher I think. Plus, he can hit.. So, my thinking is go for quality vice quantity and with positional flexibility. Package the other guys to some other team and get pitching.

    Have they bought out Solarte yet? Other teams announced like 3-5 players all at once. We only announced Smoak that I am aware of. Are the Jays going for the drip drip method of news this off season.

    Before I go to bed, I am going to leave you all with some very important words that I think relate to our new manager and this topic. You dont marry the prettiest girl at the party. You marry the one whose yelling at the beer pong table because she is losing. That girl is going to raise winners & you want your kids to be winners.

    Just watched part of the press conference via FB. Seems like a good guy, with a personality and who is funny, who will speak like a normal person and not some canned corporate speak like the robot Shapiro. My biggest take away is that he is a winner, and winning is the priority. That is IMO the most important thing I want from a leadership perspective. Of course everyone says they want to win. However, some guys are able to populate the correct winning mentality in the team better then others and successfully make it a pillar of everything else they do. I like so far...
