H2H position Dynasty league... So players have to have RF, LF, CF etc.. There are also contracts... Riley has a longer contract before he hits FA and needs to be resigned. I think a 3 yr difference Max Kepler RF for Austin Riley 3b/LF ?

I am not advocating trading LGjr... I agree with you on that... I do believe Tulo contributed greatly to our playoff run with his D.. and D up the middle is key.

To be fair and to his point.. He 100% improved our D up the middle, especially considering Reyes was killing us at SS.

If you believe what has been coming from the Jays FO and our Manager. Run prevention is THE priority this offseason, not offense. Hence Lindor, Springer (until he slows down) pitching make sense in that context...

He is probably too young to remember when we signed AJ Burnett.. A HUGE consideration of that signing was his wife and her horses and distance from home and IIR she didn't like to fly and the Jays had to include X amount of limo trips for his family etc... Buehlre would have never signed as a FA with TO due to his Pitbulls love.. Family and personal issues/wants/needs are huge factors in FA signings.

Family.. If Kim want's to play in TO to be with Ryu, and his family, wife etc want to live, have kids go to school in SD/distance from Korea, large Korean community, family/wife almost always wins. I don't care if you are a pro baseball player or Joe Schmoe.. Wife says she wants to live somewhere and you say I want to hang with a buddy or want to hang in a lake house in the forest, (my case, and I don't live there) and your wife says no... The wife always wins.. So family wanting to be in SD, plus the MLB playing time guaranty.. Not such a mystery..

Very closely ranked in prospect rankings now, and Groshans is a position player.. I like Patino and he is a stud, but I would take a stud position player over a pitcher all things equal... Risk vs reward.. Of course the Padres don't need stud position players.. but the value is equal enough that you can say a wash.. if you don't agree with Groshans over Patino..

Huh, interesting to read this now... So, we already agreed Manoah = Wilcox.. Jansen surpasses Mejia and Groshans surpasses Patino. Not sure where Hunt falls in there.. But interesting...

Did you read the Kim thread where guys were re-posting we are THE front runners, and multiple posts about which flight he was taking and which city and direct flights to TO from Seoul etc.... I can also go on and on about other players the Jays are supposedly the front runners or going hard for. It seems that when the Jays kick tires, they are being used to drive prices up/competition.... Hence I said 60% BS.. I am sure 40% is accurate, what our/realistic chances are within that 40%, TBD...

Just goes to show with with the Kim signing that the Blue Jays rumors are 60% BS.. It really seems like we are just being used as leverage... I would have low expectations and then we can be pleasantly surprised..

They really do have a lot.. Great scouting department. That is what I was talking about with the Jays. Jays do not have anywhere near the pitching depth in their farm/system. Not close to Padres, Indians, Pirates, Rays, Arizona, and others...with pitching. While a good system, that would be my prioriy at the milb and MLB level.

The ONLY reason Wilcox was taken third round was signability and has nothing to do with talent level. The Nationals had picked him out of high school and he went to UGA. Ranking sites had him a between 11 and 20 first round as far as talent. Many project him as a future top 30 prospect. The bonus was huge and a record to reflect the fact they were signing a 1st round talent with a 3rd rnd pick.

Bingo!! I remember I was on another baseball message board.. We were all monitoring it minute by minute and I think probably the highest traffic the board had ever had that night... We all got severely Blue Balled! Come to find out years later, I don't even think AA made an offer..

Some of this stuff is so ridiculous.. I remember when Kawhi went to Home Depot and got a bunch of moving boxes.. The Toronto Twitter sphere thought it was a great thing.. Same when he went to the Blue Jays vs. Angles game.. Los Angeles Angels... Same when someone tracked a MLE private jet that went to San Diego, thinking the Raptors were flying him home to get stuff before he came back to TO. You are better served to fly into a west coast hub from Korea, shorter flights. West coast is closer to Korea flight time and more Korean's, bigger Korean community. He could have been asking Ryu how he liked Southern California at dinner.. All is total speculation at this point.... If he is that good, there will be other savvy and deep pocket teams in the bidding...
